hmmmm.... disappointed in the list actually.
There are a lot I m not nearly as impressed by as most people, and there are a few movies I like but aren't really something I need to see in a theater, for example When Harry Met Sally.

I have to think he is joking or just full of sh*t. Godfather II? Lawrence of Arabia? Wizard of Oz? Even if he hasn't seen them, no way he has never heard of them.

When are they going to add A night to remember to the list I would love to see this in theaters on the anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic.

I'd like to see LoA in theaters, but I don't know if I can do 4 hours in theater. I tend to get restless and sore after a while. There's the intermission I guess, so I can stretch then

I'd be interesting if these were like...$5 tickets. But I don't know if I'd be willing to spend regular box office prices for something I can easily access at home.

Love TCM, but I already have all the ones in that list that I'd want to see on Blu-Ray and have a big OLED with killer sound system.

Needed some Noir or something like that to get me out of the house and paying premium prices for a single view.

Nope. They are actually priced more than a standard movie ticket. $12.50 here. (and not A-List eligible)

I guess TCM has to choose titles that will draw a general audience -- and epics like Ben Hur and Lawrence demand to be seen on a big screen -- but the list is a little underwhelming.

Too bad with the 80th anniversay of 1939's roster, they only included Oz. Was Mr. Smith Goes to Washington too on-the-nose for modern tastes?

Too many Negative Nancys in this thread. It should always be cause for celebration when classic films get re-released on the big screen. I've seen Blade Runner five times theatrically and there's nothing quite like it.

They had Mr. Smith Goes to Washington back in theaters last month.

But that TCM series is known for pretty lousy presentation. The last one I bothered with was Singin' in the Rain; the video was DVD quality at best, and the audio was terrible. I'd rather stay home & watch a decent copy.
