Angry Pirates of the Caribbean: At WIT's End!

What frustration this has been just to get this movie. First, I buy blu-ray in August plus POTC 1 & 2. I find out I have to wait 4 months to get part three which I never saw in the theater. DOH!

Today, I leave work one hour early for a doctor appointment and pickup the movie. It was only a shot so I know I will be out of there in 15 minutes. I turn down to the main street to the doctor's office a couple of blocks soon, no big deal, right? Wrong! Road work is diverting traffic so now those 2 blocks to get to the parking spot takes longer than usual.

I park, get in the elevator and push the button. Before the door shuts, some guy steps in. Before it shuts, he steps out. Didn't know where he was going.

I leave the doctor's place with no incident. But now I have to go UP the block where traffic is diverted and I pull out behind a bus. That takes a few minutes. I turn the corner to head back to the direction where I came from... problem is, so did half the other cars. More lost time just to get turned around! Finally, on my way to BJ's without incident.

On the way to BJ's, the usual turn to pull into the lot is blocked off. Another couple of blocks ahead and I found the rear entrance I didn't know was there. I simply took the chance. I park.

I get in BJ's and grab PoTC 3 and get behind the lady on line to the only register in the electronics cage. I didn't like the defect I saw in the package so I turned maybe 12 feet to grab the other. By the time I turn around again two old ladies are in front of me with a few items. Now, there is something they want, another associate goes to get it, and the cashier stands there opening new bags waiting for this other person to come back. Meanwhile, their sale is sitting there in limbo. I'm waiting patiently (on the outside) for maybe 10 minutes and no action.

I finally open my mouth TWICE before the cashier zero's out the woman's sale in waiting to check me out. Get home with normal traffic. So, now I am home. I am looking forward to making some dinner and eating it while watching this movie for which I already waited 4 months.

I find out there is a plumbing issue and the plumber is late. Since the issue and the BD player are both on the ground floor, I am GUARANTEED interruptions if I decide to watch the movie. In short, no promise of "I'll leave you alone." from my family is sufficient because, well, I know better. I can't watch it tomorrow because I need to be someplace. With any luck, I'll see it Thursday. If that doesn't happen, Friday is not good because I need an early night to prepare for the Air National Guard on Saturday and be away for the weekend.

What next? The popcorn machine breaking? Frikken A!

If it'll make you feel any better, Track 3 of the film's soundtrack is called "At Wit's End", too.

You could be a lot worse off in life, you know. It may be aggravating when you get caught up in the situation, but on a wider scale, it is a rather trivial issue. Just remember to breathe next time the frustration builds.

Tron3:

I feel your pain...I've waited for months as well. I finally sit down tonight and hit play. After suffering through the tons of Disney commercials...it comes up to the skull screen which begins all Pirates movies. When I hit play...it just continues to play scene after scene of the skull. It will not advance to the movie. Every attempt to reset (and many times more suffering through the commercials)....it doesn't work. I just updated the software 2 weeks ago so I don't think it's that.....sooooo darned frustrating.

Nothing like plumbing to ruin an evening. It's always at an inconvenient time. Though waiting for the plumber beats hands down a fast trip out to Menard's to pick up a sewage pump to replace the same evening. There are some really good things about having your own septic system and some really bad things. Two weeks ago the outside pump failed (I don't mess with that one) and we spent Saturday evening letting if mellow, if you know what I mean.

I know, I know. After I calmed down a little I realized I wasn't like many people today diagnosed with cancer, or lost a loved one, etc. It was just I had my heart set on it. I'm over it.... mostly.

Tron, could be worse, you could be a hd dud owner and never get to see it in blu ray. Stuff like that happens to my dad all the time and his famous saying in angry voice is "what are the odds". Enjoy the film when you finally get a chance

Just remember that the difficult times in life make the good times only more precious.

I hope you'll like the film when you finally do see it. That would be the worst, to be disappointed with the movie after all that!

Oh, I am sure I will like it. No matter how terrible a movie sequel is, I usually do buy the video to complete my collection. T3 wasn't the movie I had hoped, but I enjoyed it and is a part of my collection. I kept hearing terrible things about Shrek 3, but I liked it a lot. Maybe being a Paramount flick people here railed it.

There is ONE exception. "Lawn Mower Man" is a fantastic piece of sci-fi. I had the opportunity to see the sequel a few years ago. Though I own the original the sequel is such utter crap that even the much improved graphic sequences could not make it worth buying. Therefore, I own just the original.

None of this would have happened if POTC III was on HD-DVD instead of blu-ray.

I have the Samsung BD-1200. The Fantastic 4 Silver Surfer movie also caused problems before upgrading software. Once upgraded, it worked fine. I looked and there doesn't appear to be a new patch since I upgraded. since nobody else has had this problem, I'm thinking it must be the disk...although the disk of extras does the same thing.
