HT heads up: Quality of Netflix streaming HD depends on the player you use

Important consideration for those planning to incorporate Netflix streaming or Hulu into their home theater systems...

There are "approved" players and "unapproved" players. One third of Netflix's HD content will play as standard def in an unapproved player. 5:1 sound is not always available to unapproved players either.

Approved Players: AppleTV2 and 3, Roku3, Western Digital Media Servers, Playstation3

Unapproved Players: home computers, RokuXDS (no HD at all), Boxee, Plex, and some networked blu-ray players

If anyone else knows of other approved or unapproved players, please add them to this thread.

Find out if your player is approved or not... Play Disney's Hercules. If it plays in HD, you have an approved player. If it doesn't you don't.
