Got into a discussion on an other post regarding Family Video's practice of "Professionally Refurbishing" discs. I got mixed answers - some insisting that FV does NOT machine refurbish blu-rays. So, I went right to the source. I wrote FV and here is the response:
My original question to Family Video: A discussion has been started on an internet forum site regarding the process as to how you "professionally refurbish" your blu-ray discs. Can you please give me some insights into the process? Is a machine used in this process? Thank you for your quick reply. Family Video's reply: Hello, Yes, a machine is used in this process. We run the discs through this disc cleaning machine before shipping them out to our customers. Thank you for choosing Family Video! So, beware that Family Video DOES machine refurbish blu-rays. NOTE: This is by no means to be incriminating against Family Video as a retailer. It's sole purpose is to inform and make clear their practice regarding their practice of refurbishing blu-rays. |
