Even though most DVD movies are widescreen (either 16:9 or original) and better viewed on a widescreen sets, it seems most subtitles are intended to be viewed on good 'ol 4:3 sets. Many times, on my own experience, most subtitles I've viewed are either displayed on the letterbox or somewhere between it and the picture (the movie). Which is quite annoying especially if you own a 16:9 set. You're either forced to view the movie on 4:3 mode or fullscreen (stretch). And I watch my share of foreign flicks from time to time.
So I was hoping next-gen format (Blu-Ray, HD-DVD) subtitles are more interactive. As in you'd be able to adjust the position up or down. So is it possible? Thanks for your time. I wanted to ask this question for a long time. |
