Based on the characters from Archie Comics, Riverdale returns with its subversive take on small-town life. Determined to protect the sanctity of his town in the wake of his father's shooting by the Black Hood, Season Two of Riverdale finds Archie (KJ Apa) seeking justice...and vengeance. As a civil war brews between the Northside and the Southside, loyalties are divided. Betty (Lili Reinhart) and Jughead's (Cole Sprouse) relationship enters fragile territory when Jughead decides to join the Southside Serpents, and Betty's long-lost brother Chic returns. Veronica (Camila Mendes) finds her life upended by her father Hiram's (Mark Consuelos) arrival and his dark schemes for the town's future. Everyone will have to pick a side, including Queen Bee Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch), star-to-be Josie McCoy (Ashleigh Murray), Kevin Keller (Casey Cott), and Reggie Mantle (Charles Melton). Things are never what you'd expect in Riverdale, and that's especially true as Archie and the gang race to avert a full-on riot and to solve the mystery of the Black Hood.

"With a phenomenal 60% average viewership growth from last season, Riverdale continues to build its passionate fan base in its second season," said Rosemary Markson, WBHE Senior Vice President, Television Marketing. "We're thrilled to release Riverdale: The Complete Second Season on DVD so both new and returning fans can relive all of their favorite episodes, and enjoy new behind-the-scenes extras."

Riverdale is created by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (Glee, Big Love), produced by Greg Berlanti (The Flash, Supergirl, DC's Legends of Tomorrow, Blindspot), and stars KJ Apa (Shortland Street), Lili Reinhart (The Kings of Summer), Camila Mendes (Randy Doe), Cole Sprouse (The Suite Life of Zack and Cody), Marisol Nichols (Big Momma's House 2), Madelaine Petsch (The Curse of Sleeping Beauty), Ashleigh Murray (Deidra & Laney Rob a Train), Mark Consuelos (All My Children), Casey Cott (The Mascot), Skeet Ulrich (Law & Order: LA), with Mädchen Amick (Twin Peaks), and Luke Perry (Beverly Hills 90210). I stopped watching after the “Carrie” musical episode because I ended up missing the next episode and never caught up after. I need to pick up season 1 and this one as well.

That's when the season really got going lol

I like the show, but I don't think I'd ever want to buy them... plus at this point, they cover so many songs and WAC is stating clearance issues now that I'd be afraid they'd stop this as well.

If enough people complain about the clearance issue for iZombie something might happen. Nothing will happen if we do nothing

iZombie’s last release didn’t come out until October, so there’s still time. A DVD release hasn’t been scheduled either, so whatever issues that are affecting the Blu-Ray are probably affecting that too.

I wouldn’t worry about Riverdale. Season 2 is still on the dock for Blu-ray, and it’s probably the biggest teen show on TV right now, along with 13 Reasons Why. That can’t hurt anything.

Yeah Riverdale is hot property.

iZombie is not coming out there is some clearance issue for it. They sadly confirmed this on their twitter

But feel free ask them about it. The more that does the more they see the demand for it to fix the issue.

Can you share the link regarding iZombie? I can't find anything regarding them talking about the issue.

I do have a question regarding Riverdale. I watched season 1, didn't hate it but didn't love it. Because of that I didn't watch season 2, now Netflix is getting Sabrina and I doubt the two will be connected. So my question
Is season 2 worth watching given my opinion regarding season 1?

Season 2 focused too much on Jughead and Veronica's parents. Blah.

They will be connected, but they won't crossover really since Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, just like the comic, it's set on the 60's, while Riverdale is set in 2018 (I mean, they got to see Love, Simon after Christmas, so). They didn't say a straight "no" for a crossvoer, but a "not for now".

Sabrina is, technically, immortal and could very much cross-over to Riverdale without aging much. I can see it happen after season 2 or 3 of Sabrina.

Sure, but how many of those teens actually buy physical media over watching it on their phones and tablets? And even if they do, how many of them are going to choose BD over DVD? If they're abandoning The Originals because it didn't sell good enough for them, the same could happen for Riverdale because of those things.

I hadn't heard that the show was set in the 60s, just the comic was... so it could still be modern and just have the retro look like Riverdale does. executive producer Jon Goldwater said he hopes the Sabrina cast could eventually show up on episodes of Riverdale since they mentioned Greendale before, which is probably the only kind of crossover they would have since they're different networks and one will be weekly and one will be all at once... just cast members showing up and have passing references to being in Riverdale or Greendale on the shows they belong to.

This, that's why they haven't ruled it out. It's just, it would be pretty spoilery too, unless they create a time vortex or something.

I think a some people from the show have confirmed that it is set in the 60s (I think the sources come from both, some actors, confirmed actors, and crew members). You should check Twitter to see where to get it, I can't remember.

It would be really cool if Sabrina took place in the 1960s, even if that means crossovers won’t happen (unless time travel is a thing with her powers). Riverdale takes place in modern times, but it definitely has a 50s retro atmosphere to it. I think it’s pretty timeless, and shouldn’t date too much over time, at least not as bad as most teen dramas.

I mean, I’m in my early 20s and pretty close to the show’s target demographic (if not actually a part of it), and I support the show on Blu-ray. Clearly Season 1 did well enough. I would collect the show anyway if you can to show that there’s an market for it on Blu-ray.

The show is also based on a classic comic book series, which probably helps too, even if not as much as a DC series (almost any new DC show is pretty much guaranteed a Blu-ray from Warner or WAC).

I loved season 1. It was campy and fun despite the serious aesthetic.

Seasons 2 is awful, though. For one, 22 episodes is too many and the stories they chose to tell weren't interesting enough for that number of episodes. It started out alright with the black hood, but they dragged it on and on and the conclusion is too predictable and stupid. The Lodges and their corrupt ways? Who gives a damn about that. The Chick thing? Interesting but they drop the drop the ball big time. The fun factor was taken away. Every single character was turned into an annoying mope (especially Archie and Jughead). And the final episode actually filled me with rage. I'm done with this show.

So, make of that what you will

Honestly, season 2 is not that great. It has good episodes, but still. They should have keep the 13 like season 1 or maybe do 15 episodes. Episodes 1 to 9 were okay, but episode 10 to 17 dragged it up. Episodes 18 to 21 were like, all coming together and were great episodes (yes, I liked the musical episode), and episode 22 was, like episode 13 of season 1, a epilogue, but not that good.

actually I don't like Shows with only 13 episodes. there is not enough time to learning know all characters and there is to much waiting time then between the season until the next one.

That is the episode I have no desire to watch. Completely pointless musical episodes from The CW.

You need to watch at least the last minute. But you kinda need to see som episode scenes besides that one, so you need to watch it either way. It's not that bad. Here you have a breakdown of the type of perfomances. Not spoiler of how they are, just how they are. Dunno if you get it.

Glee type musical numbers:

[Show spoiler] *"In"
*"Carrie"
*Second half of "Unexpected Hearts"
*Second half of "You Shine"
*Deleted Scene of a reprise of "You Shine". It will be an extra, but it's on YT
*"A Night We'll Never Forger"

Rehearsal numbers:

[Show spoiler] *"Do me a favor"
*First part of "Unexpected Hearts"
*First part of "You Shine"
*"Stay Here Instead"
*"The World According to Chris"
*"Evening Prayers"
