Default Plasma TV Demo Movies

This is a thread for movies that you play to show off your Plasma's capabilities to guests

My #1 Pick
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo Opening sequence is just JAW DROPPING for plasma owners. The inkiness and black on black contrast is to die for if you have a plasma...esp one with exceptional "black hole darkness" like Pioneers or some of the Panasonics.

Screenshots from the BD review also show the beauty of this movie in "movie mode" which is commonly used by Plasma owners. Different color filters are on display and this movie is rich on the eyes. If you have a friend who is a videophile this is a good one to show.

My #2 Pick
The Matrix - inky black levels, eye popping contrast...and we won't even get into the sound here which is sublime

Some people didn't like it - some people loved it.

To me, Terrence Malick's The Tree of Life is absolutely gorgeous. I'm a big fan of that movie.

Gravity is easily the reference BD for black levels.

Indeed!

Add to that, the reference quality IMAX scenes of "Interstellar" for PQ, and you're set. A perfect combination.

Anything Pixar works well. I especially recommend Toy Story 3, Monsters Inc, or Up. All of those in particular look beautiful on my VT60.

Also, Peter Jacksons' King Kong, Avatar, Iron Man, The Dark Knight, all shine on plasma.
