Need opinion on job situation....

I figured people with different life perspectives could give me opinions....
I've been at the same job for the past 8 years. It's the only place I've ever worked.... I like what I do, but I despise my boss. He's a micro manager who thinks he knows everything. He doesn't listen. He yells. He never gives positives or compliments. Overall a very unpleasant person and difficult work environment. I'm also far from home. I'd like to spend more time with family before they are gone.

Current job:
The pros: Job security. I like what I do. I like where I live. 10 minute drive.
My wife also likes her job. She's within 50 minutes to her family.
The negatives: My boss is a major dick. Gives me great stress. 3 hrs from my family.

I've been offered 2 new jobs. My wife would have to quit her current position, but she could easily transfer.

1st Job:
The pros: Sounds very easy, closer to my hometown, much cheaper to live.
Negatives: Greatly beneath my skill set, pays $7,000 less. 25-30 minute drive. 2 1/2 hrs from my wife's family.

2nd Job:
The pros: Closer to home, much cheaper to live, exactly what I want to do, boss seems super excited.
Negatives: Pays $5,000 less. Drive is 50 minutes. 2 1/2 hrs from my wife's family.

Has anyone dealt with a similar situation? Should I stick out my job regardless of how much I hate my boss? I despise him. Do I trade it for a lengthy 50 minute drive with the hopes of a pleasant change?
Part of me thinks I should stick it out. I tell myself that every year. It never gets better. It gets worse......

Any advice would be appreciated.
