No lie, hoping that Inside Out takes the weekend. I believe this may wind up being one of Pixar's best films to date.

I agree that Inside Out will be Number 1, but Pixar movies don't open as big as people might think. Most open in the $60 - $80 mil range, and only Toy Story 3 opened to more than $100 mil.

There's another week between this and T5 / Magic Mike 2.

Children need a summer movie badly right now until Minions comes out. Inside Out answers the call. Hoping though that most kids aren't turned away from the movie just from the trailers.

I think JW (week 2) will take the week. I have no interest in seeing it, but it seems like lots of people do. I think Inside Out might end up being a disappointment.

Even with the dissapointing output from Pixar, the name still sells and I think there is enough hype around it to ensure it wins the weekend, and it will only build the closer to release.

As great as Jurassic World can be, and as great as it's opening weekend will be, I think most people will be happy seeing it once and done.

Inside Out $75 million
Dope $9 million (though this one could do a bit more, test screening scores have been very, very good)

Why would they be turned away from it? It's colorful and looks fun.

I don't know why people are doubting Inside Out... I've seen it and it's easily their best movie since Toy Story 3. It has wide appeal, from kids to seniors. And besides the Pixar brand, strong reviews (currently 100%... I see its final reviews ending up between 98%-100%) will encourage people to get into the theaters.

Inside Out will gain from strong word of mouth. It will do very well.

Setting aside whether a movie is good or bad, most Pixar movies open to $70 mil or less. If Inside Out opens closer to $60 mil, then Jurassic World has a chance of winning the weekend.

It could really go either way; Inside Out opening #1 or Jurassic World remaining #1 for two weeks. Even if Inside Out opens to less than $70 mil, it's still going to do really well worldwide.

Monsters University did $743.6 million, and that tapped out at 78% on RT. People weren't super enthused about that one, whereas people are going to love Inside Out. It's really a return to form for Pixar. I have no doubt it will do over $800 million.

Whether it opens at #1 or #2 at the BO, Disney will end up very pleased with the film's performance. This one's going to make a lot of money. People weren't enthused about Cars 2, Brave, or Monsters University, but Inside Out is ten times better than Pixar's last three films. Going to make big, Scrooge McDuck piles of money in the end.

I need to change my vote now...Jurassic World will win easily. Inside Out should do very well too. And, next blockbuster will be Minions.

Jurassic World $85 million
Inside Out $65 million

It will be the first time that a Pixar movie fails to bow at #1 in its initial weekend.

The combo of Minions and Inside Out should topple Jurassic World from the top spot.
