20th Century Fox Home Entertainment brings the Golden Globes Best Picture Drama and Best Actor Drama to Blu-ray this March.

It is slated to be a Combo Pack featuring the BD, DVD and Digital Copy of the film.

I agree, but apparently the Hollywood Foreign Press were sold on it. I'll definitely rent it, not yet decided on a purchase or not.

I loved this movie and really hope it gets best picture. I went in not knowing what to exspect and left very happy. I cant wait to get it on Blu.

Saw this at the Naro, our local limited release theater, two days ago. The film...fantastic. Clooney never fails for me.

Early information to retailers states that this title from Fox Searchlight Pictures will street in the USA on March 13th, 2012.

From Alexander Payne, the creator of the Oscar-winning Sideways, set in Hawaii, The Descendants is a sometimes humorous, sometimes tragic journey for Matt King (George Clooney) an indifferent husband and father of two girls, who is forced to re-examine his past and embrace his future when his wife suffers a boating accident off of Waikiki. The event leads to a rapprochement with his young daughters while Matt wrestles with a decision to sell the family's land handed down from Hawaiian royalty and missionaries. -- (C) Fox Searchlight

Definitely a day one for me. I already have it reserved for free with trades at MovieStop.

I feel so out of sync and not outgoing because I went with my GF to see this before noon (I'm a night owl, and usually sleep until like 3pm). I had a $10 credit on my AMC Stubs card, and expected to pay $10 for 2 tickets. Imagine my face when I heard I only owed $2.00 since matinees are $6 rather than $10. I told myself I'd wake up earlier to pay less for movies at the theater... but I haven't since. Lol.

Anyways, it's a great movie with some fun comedy, emotional drama and great acting from Clooney and the rest of the cast.

I'm hoping to go see it in the next couple weeks. (It's released everywhere starting today correct?) I rarely go see a movie that isn't a matinee. I'm too used to paying $7.50 for a ticket that $10-11 is too much now.

So this movie has been in wide release since early December and already has made $52M at the domestic box office, and my theatre (one of the biggest in the state) JUST NOW gets it today.

The Descendants' run was finished at my local multiplex theater thee weeks ago. It's back on one of the screens again starting today.

An Academy Award nomination can have that effect.

(FWIW, it has had the same effect on The Artist. Up until this week, it was only playing on a total of two screens throughout all of San Diego county. This week it's playing on 10 screens.)

The only sad part about this phenomenon is that it can potentially delay the release of a title on Blu-ray. I'm very much looking forward to owning both The Descendants and The Artist on Blu. Particularly the latter. I'm hoping to show The Artist in the Booth Bijou Garage Theater in March or April (fingers crossed).

The Descendants was playing at my Cinema last weekend, but no more playings for The Adventures of Tintin 3D.

This is going to be a blind-buy day 1 release for me. Rarely go to the theaters anymore and the closest it was playing to me was over 30 minutes away.

Honestly do not understand all the buzz. Not knocking those who liked it but for me it simply didn't work. If that was the best film of 2011 then it was a very bad year for films.
