I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this when I saw it theatrically. Will definitely pick it up at some point. That cover art is wretched though.

That cover is so bad.

Glad there is an awesome steelbook from Target.

Good, underrated movie, but what an eyesore of a cover.

Hopefully the 1974 version will get released on BD at some point.

Saw the trailer for this on the interstellar bluray. It seems like a good movie so I will most likely pick it up on release

It must be up there as one of the 'worst cover art' for 2015.

I had to double track to see Goodman there

Yeah, I'd love to see the original one with James Caan released on BD. I would also love to see Owning Mahowny released on BD in the future. But, at least we have the Mark Wahlberg version to look forward to.

Yup, I'm digging it.
The artwork is slick, much better in person than what the pics look like.

I watched this rental last night from Redbox and thought it was so boring I was doing other activities while it was on. I was at about the 1 hour and 30 minute mark when I finally stopped it because I was so bored. I haven't been so bored watching a movie in a long time until this one came along.

I know many really bashed the film when it came out. I had a few friends who went to see it not seeing the original film. They said they thought it was decent. I really was hoping this movie would get some interest in releasing a Blu for the James Caan movie.

I think the Target Steelbook looks great, sooo tempting, but I think I will rent this one also.

Ok. I enjoyed watching it two nights ago, but I forgot that I even watched it.
What I'm saying is, it doesn't stay with ya. And I think the reason is, now that I'm making myself think about it, is, what was the message? What was the point? Is he a gambler or not? What was the point of all that class room discussion regarding "talent" and "those that are a child prodigy" and "being better than your peers" at shit... etc? I thought it was going to delve into "natural response vs learned response", ya know? But it didn't go there.
