Australia Predestination

It's out now. Anybody happened to grab a copy? Would love to know some specs for it as Pinnacle Films can be hit or miss from time to time with either interlaced video or lossy audio.

JB has an exclusive bonus disc:

https://www.jbhifi.com.au/movies-tv-...nation/660950/

Currently $21.58 with the 20% off sale.

There's also the standard 1-disc edition at other retailers:

terrific movie, it's a small and particularly insular movie, but acting heavy, and the two leads carry the film very well.

have any of you heard of the australian actress Sarah Snook?, she was terrific in this.

Came out back in August man, at least here in Australia it did. It got a stock standard paltry effort with a handful of sessions in major metropolitan areas and not much else. The same way most genre stuff gets treated! I think NZ got it not long after us and it probably got treated the same way!

Wow I totally missed anything about a release date. I only saw the trailer in November too.

Yeah, it's getting more mainstream press on film sites now because it comes in the US in a few weeks.

I saw this in the cinema in August, but it was VERY low key and was bustled out after a few weeks, played in the smaller auditoriums as well,.

Loved this movie too.

Sarah Snook is great in it. A real up and coming talent.
She kills it for the brief time she's on screen in These Final Hours also.(another excellent Aussie movie from this year).

I purchased the JB exclusive version today and I've just watched the movie.

Does anyone else have problems accessing the following special feature?

"Reshaping The Future: The Making Of Predestination"

It's listed under the special features menu on the Blu-ray disc, yet I can't play it. I can play the "interviews" and the "trailer", but for the life of me there's no way to highlight and play the above feature.

Danny

He's correct... I just checked. I might email Pinnacle Films about the issue, sounds like a dud pressing.

Hm, interesting. I just loaded it into my Blu-ray drive which cannot read menus, so there's just a list of what's on the disc, and the making of doc is not there. It's not on the disc at all.

Typical! I start this thread two weeks ago because I'm wary of Pinnacle's releases. It looked like they'd actually got one right. Naturally 5 hours after I've bought it an issue is discovered. Sums up my luck lately!

I saw this update in this thread just before, so I decided to check my copy as well, with the same result. My apologies, I don't usually watch special features myself, but should test these things when checking the specs, particularly since this sort of thing has happened with other releases before, such as with audio tracks etc. I will make sure I start checking for errors like this from now on. I will contact Pinnacle on Monday and make them aware of it, and see what they say. If the extra is important to you, I would advise just to return the item for a refund, it certainly qualifies as a valid reason under Australian law, and to just purchase the international release instead.

Yep, just doing a BDInfo scan now. The disc is 23,711,557,927 bytes and it includes a 1:06:34 long title but that's the interviews. Definitely not on there.

LC it's well worth your time. Saw it on a plane trip last year. Don't expect a SciFi action fest (easy to do if you're a Spierig fan) it's almost a dialogue driven piece like something Tarantino would do if he tackled the genre.

Jimmy Barnes has a cameo too if I'm not mistaken
