Default Ignore User list

What happens when you add a user to your ignore list? Does that mean you just don't see their posts, or does it also stop them from quoting you in threads?

And if you create a thread can you block a user from posting on it? That would be a great idea.

Implementing the IGNORE feature means YOU won't see any of their posts. They however can see yours and can quote you freely...at least that's my understanding of it. I have never personally put anyone on ignore.

Regarding your second query the answer is simply NO! No member of this forum should ever be blocked or be prevented from participating in any thread.

They should if all they do is try to argue with you about nonsense in every thread.

Then you need to report them to a Mod so he can take care of it. Just remember not to be abusing this because we see what you are posting as well

The thing is he doesn't "break the rules", you know, name calling and direct insults. He just repeatedly argues with me. I swear he looks out for my posts. I've been suspended before because I've lost my temper, so I try to ignore him, but he will keep it going even after I've changed the subject. He even PM'd me one time. He's like a child.

The worst of it was deleted in the crash, so I'm not sure if the mod will see what I'm seeing. There was a small thread with about 10 different users, and every single one of his 7 or so comments were something negative about something I said or an opinion I expressed. I asked him to just leave me a long and stop trolling, and he said he wasn't trolling just "contributing" to the thread. How is that when every comment he made is negatively directed at me even after I stopped responding and started conversations with others? The only reason he was there was to start an argument.

I just want him ignored so I can't see him and he can't quote anything I say, and it would awesome if I could block him from threads I create. I think the ignore option should atleast include no quoting. I'm so tired of dealing with him.

If you put the person on ignore, who cares if they quote you? You can't see it anyway so why it should it affect you?. Sounds like there shouldn't be any problem.

In response to your second question, no that is not possible (as far as I know).
If you put another user on your ignore list, however, you will not be able to see that user's threads (so, in effect, you will have blocked yourself from posting in his/her threads... but this does not work vice-versa).
