And it comes with a digital copy! Is that the first Ghibli title to do so?

Never got to see this in the theater, so a rental will be in order. A digital copy certainly sweetens the deal.

Yes it is. None of the Disney ones being released next week have one. That sucks.

Saw this in the theater a few days ago. A masterpiece from one of the greatest living filmmakers. Day one for sure.

I guess Disney probably doesn't have digital rights available for the Ghibli films its distributes, otherwise they would be available digitally at least.

The only other Ghibli film available digitally is Grave of the Fireflies.

Never seen that, but everyone says it's great. I just don't know if I can handle the depression. GKids is releasing Kaguya right? They released From Up On Poppy Hill too, but that one didn't come with digital.

Edit: Apparently neither will Kaguya. Darn.

Hope the package is as pleasing as From Up on Poppy Hill's. Saw this one today and it is one of Ghibli's very best. Cannot wait to see it again.

It's likely to look good. GKids is releasing The Kingdom of Dreams and Madness on DVD only in North America, and this is what the slipcover looks like.

[Show spoiler]

It seems like February 10, 2015 will likely be the NA BD release date for Kaguya, as Amazon notified those with preorders of that date.

This movie is a masterpiece. One of Ghibli's bet offerings and I can't wait to own it on Feb. 10!

I recently saw this and found it fantastic and i will be picking it up when it comes out on bluray.

The art style is beautiful and the story is one that will stay in your mind after the credits roll.

Highly recommend

It's a shame this was not distributed by Disney. Would have looked nice with the Disney/Ghibli tradition artwork.

I wished it was too, then I would have had a better chance of watching it in North Dakota, as The Wind Rises got a wider and more concise theatrical release window than Poppy Hill.

Since the dub is produced by Studio Ghibli, it would have been the same regardless of the distributor. But I'm sure GKids will put together a good release with a nice slipcover.

Considering Disney have three Ghibli movies so far that offer only dubtitles over a more accurate translation, I'm pleased as punch Disney isn't handling this.

Disney has been crappy with Ghibli releases so I'm happy that GKIDS is handling this one. They take these films much more seriously.

Unlikely, as GKids' release of From Up on Poppy Hill was Region A locked.
