Universal/Tobis Film have released Denis Villeneuve's Prisoners (2013) in Germany.

This disc is region-free.

This release presents the film in its OAR of 1.85:1 (it is not opened up to 1.78:1) and contains original English and German dubbed audio, as well as optional, white font English SDH and German subtitles.

The disc includes the two featurettes from the WB release*, as well as a three-minute featurette from the German premiere, and six minutes of B-Roll raw footage from shooting the film. But the biggest difference in this release is that there are twenty-one minutes of footage from the International Premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, and over forty minutes of on-camera interviews with Denis Villeneuve, Hugh Jackman, Jake Gyllenhaal, Maria Bello, Terrence Howard and Melissa Leo and Paul Dano. English and German trailers and teasers are also included.

All of the extras (except the German premiere) are presented in either 1080p24.000, 1080i29.970, or 720p59.970, so they will play perfectly on all Blu-ray players. The German premiere is presented in 1080/50i, but there is no other 50Hz content anywhere else on the disc.

*The three-minute featurette "Every Moment Matters", has been dubbed into German on this disc.

Note: In what is a huge oversight, almost none of these extra features are German-friendly at all. Only the other WB extra, the nine-minute "Powerful Performances" featurette, contains optional German subtitles. This means that there is well over an hour of extra content, that, while exclusive to the German BD, is nonetheless inaccessible to Germans who cannot understand English.
