GB IS CLOSED
Upcoming Group Buys: 2/3 - 2/17 Snow White with Red Hair, Season 1&2 Exclusive AllTheAnime UK set Group Buy Link = https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...8#post16044638 https://www.alltheanime.com/collecti...-and-2-blu-ray The current price = £49.99 (as of this post, it = $65.61 US) International Shipping is an additional £25.00 (as of this post, it = $32.81 US) - this will be divided by the amount of group buy users Domestic shipping via USPS Media Mail = $5.00 (includes packing material costs) Interested Buyers: IdeaOfEvil (not paid) zenpai (not paid) lunamaria87 (not paid) kevers7290 (not paid) BluexBlur (not paid) Gouki (not paid) Rules: (ongoing discussion - all ideas are welcomed) The idea of a group buy is for interested parties to pay the full price of the item and split the shipping cost evenly. Cash absolutely needs to be sent to the orderer/GB controller before the order is created. CC payments, IOU's, or trades are not accepted. Paypal only? Paypal fees apply and needs to be covered by each interested buyer An additional $5 for USPS Media Mail must be added to each payment for shipping costs once the item arrives to the orderer and re-mailed back out to the buyer. Members with 10 or less trading scores can not control the orders (be the orderer), but they can be part of the buyers group Damage to any item is out of the orderer's control. The orderer will/can/should randomize who receives what copy. If the buyer(s) that receive a damaged copy is unhappy, then what? Defects (discs won't play, contents are missing, etc) will have to be worked out through the webstore, the orderer, and the buyer on a one-on-one basis. The orderer is responsible to get you a complete/working item. The orderer is not responsible for you being happy with the item itself. Interested buyers will be separated from actual buyers. There will be a two week collection period to allow interested buyers to come up with funds for their purchase. As soon as you can pay, PAY. There is a difference between what the final price might be with interested buyers versus what the final price is with the people that have actually paid. Buyers should not look at a list of other interested buyers and calculate the final cost of the item in case people back out, miss the two week deadline to pay, and/or have an emergency. The orderer is required to take a screen shot of the order confirmation and post it in the GB thread for all to see. Last edited by IdeaOfEvil; 02-15-2019 at 07:18 AM. |

Will you be hosting the GB? If not, I would be more than happy to take care of the Group Buy if there are no objections. I have more than enough feedback both on here and on eBay. I’m also great with numbers and money. (I was in charge of dividing and collecting rent fairly and evenly between 4 people in a 3 bedroom apartment for a full year of actual hell. I also work at a bank dealing with money directly.)
As of this moment (but subject to change at any given time)*: £49.99 = ~$65.72 £25 shipping = ~$32.88 Assuming there are 10 of us who will participate, this is roughly $3.29 per person. Media Mail shipping (2lb - 2lb 15oz) = $3.79 PayPal Fees for $72.80 = $2.48 TOTAL (currently estimated) = $75.28 PER PERSON *based on exchange rate of 1 GBP = 1.3143 USD provided by x-rates.com. (Banks and PayPal alike charge based on at least a four decimal point rate, sometimes 5 or 6.) We need to have a set purchase date in place so that we all know exactly when this order is being placed and when to expect an order confirmation to be posted (like a screenshot of the full payment/order receipt in our email inbox). I think the best day to put in the order is Sunday, February 17. By then, everyone should have received a paycheck and will be able to contribute their allotted amount of money to the purchaser. Payment should be sent 1-3 days before the purchase. We don’t want to send it too soon either, as then it is just a balance that we have to keep track of and keep in our account for longer, which is not preferrable IMO. Also, if anyone wants the purchaser to buy something else from All The Anime in addition to or instead of the Snow White set, it should be allowed. Additional money for the additional item(s) plus additional domestic shipping charges and PayPal fees would be added to that person’s total and paid for at the same time. Obviously this would be discussed on a one-on-one basis between purchaser and the person in question. |

As far as you doing it, or me, or someone else, my thought is just who's in a location that a shipment from the UK is going to get to quicker? I live 10 miles away from San Francisco, so is that a major mailing hub that would get it faster even though you're in Utah? But other than location and speed of mail, I'm fine with whomever =) Quote:

As far as collecting the money goes, I think the orderer needs to be comfortable holding on to all the payments as they come. If there are five people interested, but then three back out at the last minute for whatever reason, then the two people left aren't really saving much on shipping, and then the whole GB is kinda pointless. Maybe my idea is more of a marketing strategy, but I think if someone sees that there's already a set amount of people committed then they'll be more willing to come aboard with the order rather than there being a bunch of people only interested with no one having definitely chipped in. But I'm willing to hear any and all other sides to this, cuz I have no idea what the best course of action is =) Quote:

Additionally, in regards to damage, if it does occur I think it would only be fair to post the quantity that got damaged and what said damage is, and ask for volunteers to wait on getting theirs while the orderer gets in touch with All The Anime about what to do going forward. (Refund? Ship back and resend? Keep original and resend?) Although the chances of damage in the first place is highly unlikely anyway. |

![]() ![]() First, this is just a discussion, so it shouldn't be on the GB forum imo. Second, the point of doing it on the Anime boards was because there's a BST thread that is specifically for the anime posters so we all didn't have to search for "anime discs" in a majority "movie collection" sub-forum. This should honestly be moved back especially since a lot of people in the Haul thread wanted to talk about this subject Last edited by IdeaOfEvil; 01-31-2019 at 09:45 AM. |

I think this is a great idea. You can count me in on the group buy. Ive had my eye on this set for a while. I am looking forward to see where this goes and how many join.
I love how organized this discussion is. Everything is put out there and set up very well. |

Since LordCrumb wanted to move this to the GB sub-forum, what can we do to notify anime posters in this forum about future GB's?
Should we make announcements in the BST thread, or create a general GB talking thread (like this one) and make posts in there? Or should we make individual GB threads for each (potential) title individually? |

I would say we should make a General Anime Group Buy Discussion thread and every time there is a potential GB, then we discuss it directly; if people are on board the host/orderer would then make a delegated post in the Anime BST thread for that particular GB. That way we can guage interest in the Discussion thread, and if it ends up being desirable it can be executed in the BST thread.

The thing is LordCrumb moved this thread to the regular Group Buy sub-forum last night. I had to ask to get it moved back here just for discussion's sake. So I doubt even putting this in the BST is gonna be allowed. And that's cool, we can make Group Buy threads in the group buy sub-forum. But we should have a dedicated thread (or a thread dedicated to) talking about new and old GB's in the anime sub-forum. Right?

My impression is that putting actual GBs in the Anime BST thread was okay, we just are not allowed to make any new threads here for actual GBs that are taking place, but you can definitely PM neoz and/or LordCrumb just to check. Technically, if we had to set up an Anime GB thread in the GB sub-forum, people who are interested would know of its existence from the Anime GB Discussion thread here, and could always subscribe to that thread to keep track of updates in regards to ongoing GBs. It would be preferable to keep all anime ventures to the anime sub-forum, but not impossible to work around if that ends up not being okay per forum rules.

Cool!
So maybe we should just make this the GB thread now. Just rename it 'GB Announcement Thread' and this will be where we start GB's and link to them in the GB sub-forum. If everyone's all good, then how about Sunday we post the Snow White thread and start getting names, and then we'll set the end date/order date for the 17th? |

This may be of interest for your group buy re shipping. I've weighed my Snow White set and it weighs 357 grams or 12.6 ounces.
