Maybe because it's pretty awful.

I watched it and thought it seemed like it was made by people who weren't even alive during the eighties. It even adopts that faux-grindhouse crap with scratches & missing reels.

Bummer it does that BS as none was in the trailer. Still looks fun and with various rewards piling up, I'm sure I'll blind it for $10, or as I like to call it, free!

Um, could you expand on this? What wasn't in the trailer? I will blind buy this as it looks like a decent homage and for ten bucks you can't go wrong. Judging by that trailer it looks like the filmmakers really are fans of the genre despite what a previous poster said. Even the artwork looks like it came from the 80's

Thanks for the feedback. I know horror films can be quite divisive, so I may still take a chance on a blind buy since it's only $9.99. I can be very forgiving with horror/slasher movies since it's one of my favorite genres.

P.S. I actually kinda liked the faux film print damage in Grindhouse.

I saw no evidence of faux scratches or missing reels or even excess grain in the trailer. I loved Grindhouse, but hate when others try to imitate it. This trailer did not say Grindhouse ripoff or homage or anything like that to me, so if does have all that GH stuff, that's a bummer. Unless they get it right, but most don't get it right which is why I hate to see it anymore and will not blind buy if it's prominent in the trailer.

I listen to Killer POV Podcast and one of them had seen this movie and he said the film is purposely grainy and has missing reels in it and it bothered him and it kind of bothers me because that's not an 80's cliché. Grainy film and missing reels sounds more to me like a 60's or 70's movie. He said the movie was alright but it's just your typical slasher movie and there's no real surprises.

One of the killings did surprise me, but that's the only good thing I can say about it. The problem is that it was obviously shot digitally on the cheap, so it already has that harsh look to it, then they went in and added all of the scratches & the missing reels crap; it makes it look even more amateurish, like something that was done on a desktop program as an afterthought.

I'm sure some people will like it, but as an "homage" to 80s horror flicks, I didn't think it worked at all.

Based on the trailer, I didn't get that impression either. But I just watched it again, and if you look closely, you can see black specs and fake print damage.

I'm a sucker for a fun slasher though, so I'll definitely be blind-buying on Tuesday.

I think the "MISSING REEL" gimmick is kind of stupid though. Do these filmmakers realize that a reel is about 20 minutes worth of footage?

Not horrible but that eye gouge scene...oh my, if Fulci was here to see that...use some practical effects already...laughable scene.

I really wanted to like this, but it's one of those indie movies like Hatchet where nothing happens for the first half and the characters walk around talking and being boring. There's a couple of fun deaths and the final girl gets a good 5-10 minutes to have fun but other than that it's pretty mediocre, which is a shame because I really liked the look of it.
