Currently, Amazon.co.uk has a buy 2 get 1 free Blu-ray. This includes titles like "Bruce Almighty", "The Island" and "Cinderella Man". You can get these on Blu-ray at real good price now. And, these titles play just fine on US player.

Look here for region code info:

Dumb question: When you order from the UK, are duties added automatically? What is the shipping cost to send across the pond? Thanks.

On Amazon.co.uk - this is buy 2 get 1 free. Great deal.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/feature.h...d_i=B000PI3UEA

So, 3 movies for the prices of 2: GBP 15.30 (after VAT deduction from 17.98) * 2 + GBP 5.06 shipping to USA = GBP 35.66 = 72.91 USD (Dec 11, 07 exchange rate).

That's only about $24 a movie, shipping included.

I have The Island already. I'm in the USA. And, it works perfectly on my US Sony S-300 Blu-ray player. I also have NEXT on blu-ray, which works just fine on my player as well. So, check out the region info website. It is excellent and seems to be very accurate.

PS. Another good thing about importing these films from UK is that they are released in UK by Disney and I would rather give my money to Disney than the back-stabbing Paramount.

Why are certain movies released in the UK before they are available here? I would like to buy Ocean's Eleven without buying the three disc box set.
