![]() ![]() Does anyone know what is happening to my son's PS4? Certain backgrounds will have a strange pink pixelated checkerboard pattern on them. I have taken a picture during NBA 2K15 to show it. You can see it on the face. Anyone? |

I would check the mode the TV is displaying video games in, sometimes referenced in the TV's manual. My HDTV has a Video Game mode, and displays games much better in that mode with less visual problems.

That's strange, not sure. Is it only for that game or every game? I would check the wires, connections. The other day, my screen was flickering like an old movie and it turned out the connection was loose. Sometimes a certain resolution can create strange effects; like when a striped shirt creates a wavy pattern.

No, it shows on all games, but not the whole screen, it's very weird. Also shows on dashboard. Ill post other pics when I get home. I chatted online with someone from Sony and they recommended starting the PS4 in safe mode and then selecting "rebuild database."

Can you take a screenshot using the "share" button on the DS4 then upload the picture to see if the artefacts are still visible?
If it's doing it on every game and on different T.V.'s I could only imagine it's a hardware failure of some sort. |

I will do that this evening before I try what the Sony associate recommended.

That's my old tv that is now in my kids room. I've got a 4 k LG in the living room now. Also have a projector in the home theater with a 100 inch screen so don't be sorry

![]() Ok so you have tried the PS4 on the 4K LG with (Name HDMI cable here) & the problem looks near identical to the Vizio correct? I'm seeing scan lines on the Vizio pic you posted. Is it a 1080p set or 720p set? It looks like sharpness is set to max as well as Contrast. I could re-create that exact image on my 4K by blowing out the settings barely. I'd first have to set the resolution below 1080 in the PS4 settings first though & turn on Deep Black (RGB Full) I would start by using a different HDMI cable & make sure it's high speed or 3D supported one, check video options on the PS4 console.. Make sure RGB full is set to limited, make sure resolution settings are set to auto & lower both sharpness, contrast & any features that enhance picture detail. If the problem is still there (On both your TVs), I'd back up your saves & re-initialize the PS4. |
