After Disney Australia confirming the individual release of Aladdin and trilogy collection for the 27th of March just yesterday, Ezydvd now have them listed on their website and are up for pre-order.

Not that I care about whether it's a diamond or not, but that changed fast. Less than a month ago Disney Australia said it was going to be a Diamond Edition. I wonder why it has changed?
Although Disney Australia did have 3 listing for it, a double play pack, a triple play pack, and the trilogy set, so perhaps it shouldn't be ruled out just yet, cause if the triple play set is in fact released then that very well may be the Diamond Edition. |

Same thing happened with Cinderella.. It was going to be a Diamond Edition according to listings but then cover art came out and both the BR+DVD and DC versions replaced the Diamond Edition banner for those stupid double/triple planner banners.

It's not like it's a big deal, I just want the movie on blu, that's all that's important. I couldn't give a stuff about the cover art to be honest.

If the Australian version did end up being a Diamond Edition like Disney Australia originally stated, I believe the people who are wanting a Diamond Edition release would have just turned their attention to the Australian ratings logo on the cover and started complaining about it, and because of that many probably wouldn't have bought it/imported it even if it was a Diamond anyway. |

It doesn't really bother me whether it's Diamond edition or not. I'm just happy it's not like Pocahontas, Mulan or Hunchback of Notre Dame where it's been packaged with the direct to video sequel. However, the direct to video releases for Aladdin aren't too bad I must say.

Eww, gross. Double play banner on an already limited cover art space.
Don't they usually do new artwork for the home releases? I swear that is old promo artwork from the time of its original release, I remember seeing it as a kid. I'm going to see Aladdin on the big screen again on the 9th Feb, as Village are screening some old Disney titles for $8. And I still have 'The Return of Jafar' on VHS, haha. |
