Will probably pick this up when it's half the price. Quite liked Blue Harvest and Something Something Darkside.

£32 is a bit pricey, but great to see that we're getting this in the UK! Now where are Fox with those Simpsons season box sets?

For me... Blue Harvest was much better than the Empire version... I actually sold both... so I will only rent this one.

Finally somewhere has it up for pre-order.

This was one of the reasons why I held off buying Something, Something, Something Darkside, because I knew there'd be some sort of trilogy set down the line.

I would probably debate between getting the trilogy or the limited edtion set of It's a Trap, but since Blue Harvest is only available in the trilogy, then I'm going to go for the former and get all three on Blu-ray.

+1 . I will do the same. Saves me from importing from the US.

Me too, have just got into Family Guy over the last few months, watching before I get some ZZzzz's. Really grows on you so am looking to get a more permanent collection on my media centre (great bit of kit) so this looks just the job!

So is Blue Harvest an upscale? as I have that on DVD and the 2nd one on Blu-ray but would sell both and buy the box set but if its a worthwhile upgrade.

No, it won't be upscaled, because the cels would have be painted in a computer digitally, so there's no need for upscaling. It's similar to how Disney are releasing some of their newer hand-drawn animated films, that have used computers to colour them.

I am sure Something, Something, Something, Dark Side will be the already available disc meaning 4:3 and Blue Harvest pre-dates that so expect 4:3 again but will they revert to 4:3 for Its A Trap or stick with the same aspect ratio as the rest of the season?

I'm very interested in the box set.
For those who already own Something Something Something Dark Side, are they French subtitles on it? Thanks

I thought Blue harvest was really funny. The Empire spoof however was a big let-down. Probably just rent the third one I think.

I feel the same. I might buy this if the third spoof is any good and when the price drops.

Doesn't it depend on the resolution that the animation was made for originally? If it was made in SD then it will be upscaled they only went HD in 2010.

I'll try and pick the LE up but the first two have been hit and miss, Family Guy and American Dad have really dropped in quality in recent years and I really hate the constant depiction of violence towards animals (although Stewie beating up Brian was funny the other stuff gets on my nerves).

Update: Just watched the trailer looks okay, not great just okay.

Just spotted the US Trilogy set available to pre-order from Movietyme for only £20.99 delivered which sure beats the £33.49 that Play want for the UK set.

Of course I can't say whether the set will be region locked but I believe Something, Something, Something Darkside was A/B/C so chances are good the BDs will be region free but am sure the DVDs will be Region 1.
