I've just bought this cool WWII Russian film's Finnish release and suddenly image looks squashed horizontally, disproportional on my plasma - reminded me of old times, when watching non-anamorphic DVD. Now, I know blu rays are non-anamorphic to begin with, but never before I experienced an image distortion before! Anybody else ever bumped into something like this? Not necessarily with this release? Or can someone explain this abnormality to me? Does it have to do something with the OAR correction for blu ray? OAR is stated 2.39:1, and on blu ray it was changed to 2.35:1. But isn't it a common practice and there shouldn't be any distortion in image? I'm confused!
