Default Sony s300 vs Samsung P1400 playback

Now that both are being offered at $300, which is generally considered to be more solid playback wise? Audio capabilities aren't that important to me, but I'm really concerned with which one is better at playing the movies (loading in a reasonable time, no stuttering, no hangup, etc.)

I don't have the samsung model, I have the S300. The good points are that it has played every disc without issues, including burned discs and photo discs flawlessly, easy to set up, and being a Sony model, I think it will continue to be perfected with firmware.
The cons are (not to me, but others mind you) Start up time is approx 45 seconds and load times on Java based movies varys, no TruHD yet.

If I were looking right now for a stand alone player, I would probibly pick the new Panny 30, due to the 1.1 profile.

Thanks for your thoughts. Right now, I'm just looking for something that will play movies for the lowest cost. Not interested in extra features, PIP, etc.

The only musts for me are the Pixar movies - have you had chance to play Cars/Ratatouille and have you had any issues with them? As for all other titles that others have reported issues (Spiderman3, POTC 3, etc.), I'm willing to wait for firmware updates, but I'd like to get a player that is rock solid (with the most current FW) with Pixar.

Go with the Sony had a Samsung bd-p1200 and you will have issues with pixar/disney movies. Had a Sony s300 to. The Samsung pq was much better but with the Sony you will have better customer service and will get timely Firmware updates.
