Why are some blu rays very expensive?

I dvr'd The 1973 musical Lost Horizon that was on TCM. I lived that movie when I was a kid. Well I noticed there is a blu ray for this film but the price is 42 dollars on Amazon and 31 dollars in the Amazon Marketplace. I might just get the DVD because it's much cheaper. Why are some blu rays so costly? I did notice that on this site it says was limited to 3000 copies but that is still very expensive.

Because Lost Horizon belongs to Twilight Time, which limit their disc runs to 3000 usually. You can order them from Screen Archives Entertainment for $34.95 or pay more on Amazon or eBay.
