Default New FuturePak "Lights & Sound" Design

MifuneFan posted this video over in the PS4 forum.

A video showing off Futurepaks new design incorporating LEDs and sound boards in to the design of the case. In this example Batman: Arkham Knight videogame.

I thought it was pretty unique, haven't seen anything like it before. Wonder if it'll make the leap to BD releases too.

I'd prefer just steelbooks, if not then future/metalpaks. These gimmicky things like sound and lights are too much

Agree, why future/metalpaks are nice. I still prefer a SB.
Also they fail to mention that the spines can get damaged where it opens.

I don't know about the sound and lights, that will eventually die or fail. I have to say though that Godzilla one looks cool! Can they add the technology to have smoke coming out of his mouth! lol!

He said pee pee.

Anyway, kind of a gimmick really to have sound and lights. The Godzilla one is stunning though even without the sound.

The thing I'd be worried about with the cases that are 3D (like it looks like Godzilla will be), is when you put them in your collection, they will take up more room than a traditional steelbook would and I'd be afraid of denting or scratching them since the 3D effect is bulging out.

I wonder if all these new fangled electronic gizmos and circuit boards placed so close to the disc will make the coating on the disc rot?

Thumbs up Well done , very innovative, loved it

Very cool sound

Great quality metal box, better than steelbook

Pretty good idea, will other studios also do futurepaks with sound ?

Well this thread is fairly dead.

Getting ramped up for Halloween, I just placed an order on amazon.de for the Halloween II futurepack with LED lights and sound chip. Not sure what the sound clip will be, but I am hoping it's John Carpenter's iconic HW theme. I hope it's not Michael Myers breathing (that would suck).

The release date is October 2, 2015. Chances are HWII will be heavily edited, but it still has an FSK18 rating sticker, so who knows?

The price in US funds is $25.61 shipping included from Germany to New York.

It's the Halloween II main theme that will play, and as far as I have read, the DE release will be cut, as it's just a re-release of the DE 30th Anniversary Edition which was cut, as Halloween II is cut in Germany still for some reason; Luckily, Austria and Switzerland is getting this uncut, which can be pre-ordered as well.
