Please recommend a long range over the air antenna (disregard spelling in the title, I can't edit it). We live in a very rural area approx 60+ miles from the network towers. I prefer something indoor but if necessary I already have the wiring from the old Direct TV dish.

60 miles and indoor...
Ha, you funny person. (unless by indoor, you meant attic. As practically all 60-90 mile are roof/attic mount) But seriously... Antennaweb.org Start there. Last edited by schan1269; 09-20-2015 at 06:15 AM. |

Even attic is going to be a big lift depending on your elevation. You want that antenna up as high as possible with as few things in the way between it and the airwaves... Like shingles and insulation!
Enter your details here to give you an idea what you might expect channel wise and whether you will need more than one antenna. http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=29 Hard to go wrong with a channel master 8 bay in my mind if you're looking for a reco. |

i think antennas made by mohu are the best, they make both indoor and outdoor
be sure to get one with an amplifier |

My neighbors across the road somehow manage with a $40 RCA attic antenna to pick up a dozen channels (didn't work for me oddly), however looks like I'll go with the outdoor wiring from Direct Tv and save myself the stress of exploring the scary attic.

Probably best. I have a Channelmaster 3879(I think, been up there going on 5 years and the box is long gone).
I am 115 miles from the Indianapolis antenna farm. I get to watch Colts/Pacers instead of Bears/Bulls. |
