Default PIXAR Cinematic Universe confirmed by Disney?!?!

VERY INTERESTING!!! Don't forget to vote above on whether you think the theory has merit!

Not to me. I've noticed a couple of the inter-franchise hommages. However, to this extent? It never even crossed my mind!

It's always been one big universe which is why you can see so many nods to other films and so forth.

This is already pretty well known. Hell, /Film runs an article on this everytime a new Pixar movie's out in theaters.

"Do you believe in the PIXAR CINEMATIC UNIVERSE theory?" or, "are you aware of all the Pixar connections / Easter eggs?" .... this is not new news.

Well, it's news to me. I knew about a lot of the easter eggs, but this is the first time that I've ever heard of them being used as proof of a connected universe. I'm fascinated by it and wanted to see if people believed it to be true or if it they think it's all just interesting coincidence that they all work so cohesively.

Yes, we need an Avengers type Pixar film. Would love to see Woody and Buzz helping the Incredibles.

Okay, this is getting a little crazy now.

First of all, the original version of the video everyone is talking about, was out two weeks ago. I shared it myself back then. It was not posted by Disney or Pixar. They picked it up and shared it through Facebook. That's a big difference right there. That version disappeared and a 'OhMyDisney' version (text added in beginning of video) showed up.

One site created a news article about it, stating "PIXAR officially confirms Cinematic Universe!" ... based on that video. It didn't take long for this to be copied over and over again all over the world in the last few days. But, fact is that neither Disney or Pixar confirmed anything. There has been no word about a 'Cinematic Universe' at all. Never.

Also, this isn't proving a 'shared universe' at all. It's showing 'easter eggs', nothing more. Did some of the Pixar staff say something about 'easter eggs' before? Yes. They do it for fun, from the very beginning. Like the 'A113' thing or the 'Pizza Planet' thing. They do it to honor each other. And after a while, they started doing it for the fans too, like the 'Hidden Mickeys'. Because of the response.

The easter eggs in this video were shared before through several fan-video's and many, many screencaps. There's also the extremely far-stretched 'The Pixar Theory', for example. This current video doesn't feature all easter eggs out there, there's even more. Anyway, Dubstar was right. 'Easter Eggs' by Pixar and the 'Shared Universe' theory by fans are two very different things. That already started with the release of 'A Bug's Life', you know. In 1998.

Final. Did Disney / Pixar confirm anything? No. And there's nothing being used as proof either.

If people want to believe it's a shared universe, fine by me. I also think it's an amusing idea. But it's no fact.

Yes, people take the presence of Easter eggs waaay too far.

Disney / Pixar will never deny the fan theory. Why would they? It increases interest for some fans, encouraging multiple theatrical viewings and home video sales.
