Default well impressed with sony

my ps3 just packed in wont read any discs at all (gutted just got ff7 to play) i was so angry untill i called sony,they are sending me a new one on friday and im just off the phone to them.

gotta say well done sony great customer service.

my dads xbox just died and he has to wait 3 weeks

I think that you will hear very positive feed-back on Sony customer service over-all, but you have the occassional clitch.

Sorry that your family experienced the red ring of death on the 360. Microsoft if expecting to pay out 1 Billion $$ this year in replacement and repair charges for the 360. Guess you guys just took a nibble of that fund.

thing that impressed me most was that if i had realised the problem before 4pm i would have had the ps3 by 6pm tomorrow night

i thought it would have been at least a week minimum.

its a blu ray drive faliure does anyone know if this is a common fault?
and do you get a new warrenty with the replacement

You never get a new warranty on replacements, and no it's not common. The failure rate on the PS3 has been estimated at below 2%, which is quite good.

Glad to hear that Sony's taking good care of you.
