Default All the Kings Men (Mill Creek Re-Issue) 5/5/15

Anyone have any info on this release? I am in the minority, but I enjoy this one, and I wonder if this will have a new encode that improves on the the very early Mpeg-2 Sony release.

Pretty sure same master but new encode and DTS-HD MA 5.1 but no extras.

That is about what I expect. I just wonder if the encode will make any appreciable difference.

Ha. You're lucky if you even get DTS-HD MA.

Mill Creek does have DTS-HD MA releases but a few dozen Sony titles were Dolby Digital only.

Have you got any news?

I'd like to know if it's a BD50 or BD25 and what's the difference between it and the SONY release?

Not to bring it back up, but I think I am just going to be the guinea pig and check it out. I would assume it is the same master, but I wonder what difference it would make from mpeg2 on one of the first blu-rays put out to avc here 8 years later. I'll update in a week or so when I get my copy in hand.

A cursory look at the transfer leads me to believe that this is pretty similar with maybe a bit better compression. The newer Mill Creek is a touch less bright.
