I LOVE a well made 3D film, both watching them at the movie theatre and also experiencing it at home, which is why I find it disappointing why 90% of the time, the main title menu of a 3D disc is just a simple static image, almost like it was just added as an after-thought.
The 2D disc gets a fancy, sleek-looking, animated menu, while the 3D disc looks like they ran of time and money to make a proper menu, then gave a high school intern 15 minutes to photoshop something together. There are exceptions, of course - Frozen has a very nice 3D menu, but they're very few and far in between. The least they could do is to take the same menu on the 2D disc and run it through some automatic 3D conversion software. But apparently, they're too cheap to even do that. |
