It looks like Studiocanal in Germany will release John Carpenter's The Fog - 3 Disc Limited Edition Mediabook on 28 August 2015. It seems it will be limited to 1000 copies.
Still unknown if it will have the same extras as the US release. Source |

Will it be akin to the GALAXY OF TERROR mediabook and just repurpose the Shout! Factory transfer?

One of those horror film titles I've been wanting to get on Blu-ray for a while. If there is no UK and Australian/New Zealand Blu-ray release happening, and this German Blu-ray has a new HD transfer, then I'll probably get the German Blu-ray release.

They also appear to be doing a JC collection boxset:

Well, guess I was wrong, folks who have received this are reporting its the same old shitty transfer used by Kinowelt way back in 2007.
Not sure if SC have messed up but it was reported as being the newly Remastered edition. Just saved myself 40€ |

I never expect these Mediabooks to have anything but old recycled transfers. The draw seems to be the deluxe packaging, which I admit can be nice sometimes, but I certainly don't want to blow a lot of money on them just for a fancy box. |

I own a few of them which IMO are quite good, Wolf Creek for example, which is superior to the UK and Australian discs. The mediabook packaging isn't something that I desire, they go straight in my cupboard and I put the discs in the cases of other versions I own, unless the title isn't available in another country.
