Default Star Trek TOS (with original effects) in HD on Amazon.co.uk but not Amazon.com
On Amazon.com, Star Trek: TOS is only available in SD, while Star Trek TOS Remastered is available in HD. It's the same on iTunes.

But on Amazon.co.uk, both TOS and TOS Remastered are listed as available in HD.

Does anyone know why the original version of Star Trek is not available in HD in its own country but is apparently available in the UK?
