I found that double feature DVD at a Right Aid for $1.99. Stoked to not only find it, but for that cheap.

hope the first film will be uncut/unrated like on the old artisan dvd double feature even though it said R on that release it is unrated and it was rereleased in the horror collection 8-pack but was r-rated version

What was uncut about it? Is it in the dominatrix portion of the movie?

This was a childhood favorite (Waxwork 1), but when I rewatched it about 10 years ago, I found the Clint Eastwood imitating Dracula a little much. Still, I will probably pick this up anyway.

Very minimal differences. Obviously I'm always in favor of the Uncut editions, however in this case I won't freak out if it turns out to be the R rated edition.

Wonder if there will be any special features for these movies or will it just be the movies on a single bluray or a 2 bluray set? Aside from Chopping Mall, all of the other Vestron releases could be bare bones releases since special features would cost Lionsgate money to produce and I don't think they would want to invest a ton into each release.

Blood Diner is going to have some bonus features too, so I would imagine Vestron would be sorta like Scream Factory where they try to make bonus features as much as possible.

That said, I am glad to see that we'll be getting trailers and TV spots on these discs. Any blu-ray that has the promotional materials for a movie are awesome in my book.

Loved these growing up. The first film is far more serious, 2 played more for laughs (like the EVIL DEAD sequels compared to the first EVIL DEAD). Fun cameos and homages to classic genre films throughout both.

I'd even pay the going Lionsgate rate for these seeing as they're being combined in one release. IMO there'd be a lot less complaining if these kind of titles were showing up in Double Feature sets.

I really like Waxworks 1 & 2, the first one creeped me out as a kid,
[Show spoiler]especially the werewolf segment
. These are definite buys from me, I've been waiting for them to be released just as long as Chopping Mall. Hopefully they're treated with just as much care, Wynorski was the driving force behind the Chopping Mall release so it's easy to see why that release is so stacked.

I hope the Warlock films aren't too far behind either.

I'll be getting this along with Blood Diner, Chopping Mall and also Return of the Living Dead 3 hopefully its the Unrated version and those prices come down i can't see paying the price of $39.99 a piece for each of those titles unless there going to come down when there available for order then.

They will come down, and in fact 27.99 is the price for Chopping Mall. Genre titles are going to all wind up like this, limited because they arent selling well otherwise and these labels arent doing all this work for the 9.99 sales/bargain bin at Best Buy crowd.

I bet they include extras for all of the Vestron line to help justify the high SRP.

I saw Waxworks during it's original theatrical run with a group of friends on a Friday night in an otherwise empty theater that was walking distance from our apt complex. Thanks in large part to smuggling in a huge bottle of Bacardi and a couple big gulp sized cokes, we had a great time with the flick.

I've had the Waxworks 1 and 2 dvd for years and recently watched W2 for the first time and thought that movie was mostly crap - the horribad compressed transfer didn't help either. This will be a day one buy for sure.

A double feature? Thats cool.

I wish there were more double features on blu ray like this. In a lot of cases I end up passing on some sequels because I cant afford to buy several blu rays to get a movie that has a couple sequels. I mean unless its a series that near and dear to my heart, or if its like the case of the jaws sequels as I could get all them because they released at 10 bucks each. But had they been like 15 or 20 I couldnt have done it.

Same! Joint commentaries with Hickox and Galligan would be a blast, plus interviews with some of the cast, like Bruce Campbell! The original Waxwork also had a solid making of promo video, which was on one of the import DVDs; so I hope they include that, too.

Nice! I'll get this. Here's hoping a Class of 1999 and sequel 2-pack will be forthcoming as well.
