Default Accommodation in TV for center Channel

Hey guys ... kind of a random [stupid] question. I presently have a tri-level tv stand for my home theater system. I Just bought an LG 55ec9300 OLED display that I have seated on the top level. I find, however, that my center channel speaker peaks up over the bottom rim of the television. I'm planning on upgrading to a larger center channel in the near future but I do not really have space to even accommodate the center channel I currently own without elevating the TV. I don't want to hang the TV on the wall for several reasons, so I was wondering if anyone had any simple solutions they'd recommend (such as a simple table that I can place on top of the entertainment center under which I can place the center channel). Any suggestions? I can take a picture of my setup tomorrow if that helps. Thanks!

You don't want to hang the TV (which I completely understand), how about hanging the center channel above the tv then?

A 2x4 6' long, cut in half, stained/painted to match the stand.

$3 for a 6' 2x4. (Lowe's/Home Depot will even cut it in half, free of charge)
$1 for a 10oz can of general rattle can.

If you'd rather use 4x4(otherwise known as a post...)...$6.

In one of my theaters...

The TV(42") sits on the Directv DVR which sits on the Onkyo 6disc changer.

Another one(50") sits on the center speaker.

How about having a matching tower speaker for your center, Same as the FR/FL speaker. That is how my front 3 are & you cannot have better then 3 matching speakers. There are also issues with certain types of horizontal speakers.

That is if the center tower will be below the display pending on how far up the bottom of the display is

Depending on your setup you can also consider going without a center entirely.

I'm a lifelong apartment dweller and have to various compromises over the years and I can definitely no center can be a better than a poorly situated center (particularly if you're talking about some kind of enclosed shelf).

If your mains are fairly close together to begin with it's something to consider.

And while they're not necessarily cheap, 3-in-1 stands are a great alternative to wall-mounting a TV and that top shelf can usually accommodate a lot of center speaker. I absolutely love mine.

So here:

is a photo of my current setup. Do you guys think hanging the center channel would be the easiest option? I was looking to upgrade to the Golden Ear Super Center XL center channel in the near future and have some concerns about wall mounting it as it is a rather hefty speaker. Also, subletting this condominium and not sure about the rules. Do you guys have any 3-in-1 recommendations? Was looking to see if I could get away with buying something like this here, but was hoping for something a little taller that could easily accommodate the center channel underneath. Then hopefully I could save a few bucks and it would look a little nicer than spray-painted 2x4s. Plus, I don't think the 2x4/4x4s would be tall enough that the center channel could fit underneath.

The speaker is less than 6" tall. So how is a 2" not enough? Telling me the bottom of the screen is less than 4" from the stand?

That monoprice table only adds 1.9".

All of my TV have a 1 piece base. So, whatever would elevate it could be painted to match.

This set only sits on the middle 1/4. Looks 1 piece, the "spec sheet" I found makes it look like 2 pieces. A 2x4/6/8/10 cut the exact length needed and painted gloss black(you could even do a strip painted to match the lip of the shelf) would cost under $10.

Whatever you end up with is going to be unseen anyway. That speaker is wide. If the base of the TV is within an inch...you won't see whatever it is sitting on anyway.

Because I was thinking of placing the center channel under the tv essentially. The center channel I was looking at was like 11" deep front-to-back. So it would be a hard anterior/posterior (front/back) fit for the speaker and the TV. If it wouldn't affect the sound quality too much, i'd like to lift the TV and put the speaker underneath.

The center speaker should stay at the front lip of the stand.

Do you want the TV that far forward?

Besides, you can make your own table.

Four 7" 4x4.

However long it needs to be by 2x6/8.

One fence post, they'll cut it for you.

2x6/8 cut the length of the speaker +8"(to clear the 4x4 legs)

Screw it together, paint.

I don't have any specific brand recommendations but as a general point - keep an eye on Craigslist. CL sellers tend to vastly overvalue their used electronics but you can find some really good prices on furniture/stands if you're in the right place at the right time.
