I might be a tad late to this, but I just discovered this AMAZING show, and IMMEDIATELY ordered the blu ray.

As a Christian, this is the absolute BEST portrayal of the life of Jesus on film that I have ever seen. It presents Jesus as more of a REAL person, instead of a walking God-like figure that mankind cannot relate to. This Jesus has a sense of humor, love, compassion and humanity that other films fail to capture.

The quality of this series is wonderful and the story-telling is SPOT ON. It's so obvious that careful study for accuracy is taken along with respectful fill-in's for dramatic story-telling. I haven't found anything that I can point to and say for sure....that's not accurate. Each of the apostles are presented as normal men of their times....troubled, sinful and burdened before they are chosen to follow Christ. I especially love the backstory of Matthew and how they chose to depict him.

I haven't checked my blu ray yet, but once I do, I can report back in here about it's quality.
