![]() ![]() Zombillénium 3D Blu-ray ![]() Zombillenium is a 3-D animated film based on a French comic book series. Per IMDB, "Zombillenium, the Halloween theme park, happens to be the one place on earth where real monsters can hide in plain sight. When Hector, a human, threatens to disclose the true identity of his employees, the Vampire Park Manager has no other choice but to hire him. To see his daughter, Hector must escape from his Zombies and Werewolves coworkers." The movie had a theatrical release in 2017. A 3-D Blu-ray was released in 2018, for like ten minutes, and if you blinked, you missed it. The release contains two Blu-ray discs: 1) a dedicated 3D disc 2) 2D disc with bonus/extras (making of, deleted scenes, etc...) The bad news-- neither Blu-ray disc has English tracks or subtitles. French audio tracks only, along with French subs on the 2D disc The good news-- REGION FREE! Both discs play fine in Region A and Region B players. I'll go out on a limb and assume it's compatible with Region C. For muxers, there is a separate Region 1 DVD release of Zombillenium available that has an English language Dolby Digital 5.1 track and English subs. (SEE BELOW left-- a 2-pack DVD release of Zombillenium/The Little Vampire purchased at Wal-mart.) I played the DVD with the English audio track on my laptop while watching the 3-D Blu-ray with the French audio muted, and both versions of Zombillenium sync perfectly throughout the whole movie: ![]() The movie was serviceable. As for the 3-D quality, the animation shows it's 2-D comic book roots. But, instead of being a mild, layered-type 3-D like Tales of the Night or Kirikou, its’ quality is closer to the 3-D in Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse. 3-D is medium throughout with some popouts (i.e. during the car chase scene, electric bolts, flying broomsticks). If you're lucky enough to find a copy, don't hesitate in snagging it. Vive la France! Last edited by Deciazulado; 08-06-2022 at 07:50 AM. |
