Default Hellraiser: Judgement.

The news first broke earlier today when ScareTissue shared a snippet from their interview with actress Heather Langenkamp (“A Nightmare on Elm Street”) that revealed her involvement with a new “Hellraiser” sequel.

Doug Bradley, and Clive Barker will sadly not be involved in this sequel.

Revelations Part 2.

No thanks.

No Doug Bradley, no Hellraiser for me. I'm still waiting on the remake.

Hmm, could be interesting or completely fall apart. I think it would be safer if they just try to remake it rather then continuing the old series.

Although if they go down the tired route of jump scares, this film is doomed either way.

This might be good for laughs. Hellraiser: Revelations was honestly one of the worst films I've seen.

3 through 8 are also some of the worst films I've seen. The whole series is garbage outside of the first two movies. What makes the whole thing amazing is that each one finds new ways to be horrible.

Clive Barker should helm the reboot, or get another good (horror) director to do it.

I'd still like to see a director's cut of Bloodlines. It's been butchered by the studios.

I agree that the first two movies are excellent (I read the latest Empire magazine and in their review of 1-3 they said the second was a mess, the reviewer seemed to prefer 3 for being a conventional 90s horror flick).

I don't like 3 that much, it's just...OK. I think 3 onwards went too conventional and Hollywood in an attempt to create a franchise like Nightmare on Elm Street and a villain. The first movie has a great story and is disturbing and the second has some great imagery (and both are British films )

I used to dislike Bloodlines but I appreciate it a bit more now. The Director's Cut needs to be done.

Actually, I think Hellraiser IV: Inferno is a great film. The story is really good in the mystery is presents, and we don't have Pinhead up-front like in 3 but more in the background like in the first film.

Hellraiser: Straight to Video has a nice ring to it.

As a pretty big Hellraiser fan, I'm not holding my breath. Parts 3, 6, 7, 8 and 9 are complete garbage.

The first two are obviously the best, but I also really like Bloodline and Inferno isn't all that bad.

The title for the film is Hellraiser: Judgement.

If the mods would be so kind as to reflect that in my thread title.. That would be appreciated.

I'll just go into a short explanation of why I like/dislike each film.

Hellraiser - Horror classic.
Hellbound: Hellraiser 2 - Step down in quality, but a strong sequel that continues the story properly.
Hellraiser 3 - Too silly to be taken seriously and too much Pinhead, but it is watchable.
Hellraiser 4: Bloodlines - A mess of a script. The best parts were the part about how the box was made and the end in space (because that was so bad it was enjoyable).
Inferno - Not even a Hellraiser movie. Generic Jacob Ladder's wannabe.
Hellseeker - Again, not even a Hellraiser movie. Pinhead is just thrown in. Most forgettable of the series except for some bad acting from the original Kirsty and confusing twist ending.
Deader - Stupid title of a movie that actually starts off better than the previous 3, but gets soooooo bad in the second half.
Hellworld - Generic slasher movie with a predictable twist ending. This one is mostly annoying and boring, but has so many familiar famous faces (like Henry Cavill pre-Superman) that it held my interest enough.
Revelations - Such a horrible Pinhead. Cheap and crappy. Feels like it was shot over a weekend. Only good thing is that they tried to tie it back to its roots with more sexual overtones, but the incest angles were cringe-worthy with the especially bad acting.

So to sum it up: 3 sucks, but can be watched. Everything after is almost unwatchable. 5 through 8 weren't even originally Hellraiser scripts (Dimension just took other scripts and shoved Pinhead into them), and it shows. This series is such trash. It's probably the worst horror franchise out there. A new Hellraiser movie is just unwelcome at this point.

I think that honor would go to Children of the Corn or Wishmaster. Possibly even Paranormal Activity.

Children of the Corn (surprisingly) has some decent entries here and there. Also, it started off pretty bad with the first one, so it wasn't like a fall from a cliff in quality like the Hellraiser movies. Same goes for Wishmaster. They're bad, but you know what you're getting from the start. Same with the PA series.

With the Hellraiser franchise, you have no idea what you're in store for next, yet they still find ways to be horrible. The only franchise I loath more is Saw, but in defense of that series they at least deliver what they promise to their core fans.

Maybe, maybe I would say The Howling franchise is worse. But I'm still not even sure about that.

I actually enjoy the first two Wishmaster films, didn't bother with any of the sequels after part 2 though.

Andrew Divoff just cracks me up as Nathaniel Demerest.

As a huge Barker fan and with the first Hellraiser film being one of my all time favorite horror films I just can't get excited for this. Doesn't help that Doug Bradley isn't returning. He is Pinhead and no matter how good this new guy will do, it just won't feel right in my eyes.

Is this actually going to get a theatrical release? I hope it's direct to video to be honest.

Doug Bradley couldn't save Hellrairs 6-8, so I don't really care if he's in part 10 or not. It'll probably suck but I'll watch it anyway, hoping for a longshot.

Exactly. Just like Robert Englund is Freddy Krueger. The voice, look, posture, body language and voice cannot be replaced or replicated. As everyone knows by now, Hellraiser was never intended to focus on Pinhead. Doug Bradley's terrific presense spawned all of those sequels (for better or worse).

If they want to continue the series without Mr. Bradley, do so without Pinhead. There are plenty of other cenobites that can be utilized or even created.

A world of "no". Barker has long been one of my favorites, but the man has just completely lost it. The Scarlet Gospels was absolutely horrible, and the followup short story collection, Tonight Again, was thisclose to being unreadable. Someone else, please.

The Director of Martyrs was going to direct a remake of Hellraiser a few years back. Would of loved to see that, maybe they can get him to direct this one?

I wasn't even aware that Barker had released anything since The Scarlet Gospels. That bad, huh? Unfortunate. I've said it on this forum many times but I thought The Scarlet Gospels started well enough, then read like bad fan-fiction once the characters entered hell.

The first Children of the Corn was the only good movie out of that franchise. Everything went downhill after that. The whole maniacal children killing off adults really only works once. Same goes for Wishmaster and Paranormal Activity. I regret watching all the Children of the Corn sequels. They were beyond boring and just dumb.

The Hellraiser franchise has much more potential than Children of the Corn, Wishmaster and Paranormal Activity. I've never seen Saw or The Howling. Werewolf movies are so hit and miss and I honestly don't see the appeal of Saw at all. It's just gore porn.
