Hello all, hope you're well.
While these aren't *his* releases guided projects, or technically Attenborough official productions (he narrates and is listed as producer) they are not to be slept on. The score of each is quite good, the DTS HD engaging, and I don't know what cameras they used but the AVC transfer is great. The first episode of mammals is a bit of a wash due to use of night vision to compare activities of different mammals and perceived vision differences, the image on my 77a80j OLED is spectacular. Asia's image quality is a tad sharper, but nothing to write home about beyond mammals. All in all, I was on the fence to wait for 4k, but given its not an Attenborough style budgeted production, I'm not certain it will release in 4k. If you enjoy these documentaries, I highly suggest them. |
