RE: Canadian import buyers...FYI

Hi guys. For those who import Blu-ray's from around the world (as I do) and have recently purchased items (in the past 2 months), have your Canada Post shipments been taking a very long time to finally arrive, or are you still waiting for them (as I am) to arrive? I am currently waiting on 2 shipments from Australia, 2 shipments from the UK and 1 shipment from Germany. In particular, the Australian shipments are just over 6 weeks since they shipped. The others are between 2-4 weeks. I made a call to Canada Post about the situation and this is what I was told.

In talking with the Canada Post supervisor in my area, discussing what was internally being said, I was told that there has been a huge increase in complaints about Canadian customers not receiving (all types of personal use imported goods) their items, or have been waiting weeks for them to even arrive. There is no fault with Canada Post delivering the items, it's that they don't have the items to deliver. Without saying as much, it's a Canada Customs issue and any and all imported items are being processed as quickly as possible, once released by Customs.

Please don't shoot the messenger and at the same time, you can believe, or not believe either side of the situation, but I thought it was important enough to pass the information along, seeing as I'm not the only one here on the boards that has been experiencing these types of delays.

EDIT: I forgot to emphasize that this is only a problem with Canada Post, not UPS, Fed-Ex, etc. but when you look at it, why are the other carriers not experiencing any shipping delays and only Canada Post is?
