Default Blu-ray(s) you almost bought... but ultimately didn't pull the trigger on...why?

These could be movies you physically had in your hands.... and then for some reason decided not to buy and put them down. Obviously, same with online shopping carts. You got it in there... and for some reasons you decide, "Nope, not worth it." They can also just be movies that you thought seriously about buying... but ultimately decided not to.

List a title (or a few) you almost pulled the trigger on... but ultimately decided not to and tell why.

Watched the first two and liked them... but then realized I could rent this still on RedBox. Didn't like it enough to outright buy.

Enjoyed the first one. Saw the complete collection for something like $10.... came SO close to picking it up. Ultimately didn't due to what I figured would be little re-watch value. Plus, the 2nd and 3rd movies aren't all that great in my opinion.

Was an enormous LOST fan. But figured even as awesome as this set sounded, I could always just stream episodes on Netflix. Now it's $400 or more and regret not picking it up.

This one almost always gets me. I see it drop in price, remember how good the movies were and I come close to buying it on the spot online. However, I end up not just because it's a lot to re-watch, something like 12 hours or more without the extras.

Bill and Ted's Excellent Collection from Shout Factory. I just feel 30 bucks is too much for Bill and Ted. I already have the movies on dvd in a double feature for 10 bucks. I might ask for it for christmas

This happens to me a lot when blu-rays don't include all of the previous DVD features... From Code Red to major label releases, I want to replace one with the other, not need to keep both in my collection. Sure, sometimes a new edition is so essential that I do wind up getting it anyway - I'm not saying I never buy a blu unless it has all the DVD extras. But that's what's stopped me on most of the releases where I've had my cursor on the "order now" button but didn't click, when I say, "eh, maybe I'm good with just the DVD for now."

It bugs me when i watch a film I like but then wonder if it's that rewatchable. On the one hand I want a collection of the films I like but I don't want a shelf full of films I have little interest in seeing again. 12 Years a Slave is a good example. I try and buy titles I rate 4 stars and above and I rate this a 4, but if I have little desire to see it again do I have to give it 3 and a half so I don't need to buy it based on my criteria?

I've done the same thing with the Bill and Ted Collection at Best Buy store, but it was $33 bucks.

Any i don't buy immediately. If i sit on it for a few days its guaranteed i'll decided on something else.

I thought about Videodrome and ended up getting Mulholland Dr, Eraserhead, Twin Peaks.

Which blu-rays I wanted to buy but chose not to, it's usually a matter of logistics and/or finances. If my budget wasn't so limited, I would gladly afford works like The Phantasm Collection when it's still available (although it being priced at the standard during release didn't help it). And sometimes I don't have the space for stuff like the Arrow set of Donnie Darko; such space that wouldn't be an issue if I could afford a bigger shelf, which goes back to finances.

Definitely the Miami Vice complete series set. It's a great deal but it just reeks of a total nostalgia purchase that may never get fully watched and definitely never watched again. I've managed to pass... so far

There's a $10 or $15 double pack at Walmart that repackages the shout release with the bonus features.

Logan steelbook from Best Buy.

The $12 dollar standard release from Target around Father's Day helped me get over it real fast.

For me it's the show Sons of Anarchy. I have the whole series on DVD and haven't watched them since the show ended. TV shows just don't have the same replay value as movies because they are so time consuming. So unless the blu-rays for this show have a serious price drop, I'll be holding on to the DVD's.

I almost bought the Star Wars Complete Saga when it came out but then I remembered how much I hate sand because it gets everywhere and put it back.

Elvira: Mistress of the Dark - I didn't have the funds to order it, still don't. But judging by the thread in the German subforum, I looks like I came out ahead.

It dropped to like $42 but had to seriously consider if I would have the time to sit through the series right now when I have so much left to watch yet. I am mourning the loss though even now lol.

Fun movie, but I decided the DVD was good enough for me.

The Arrow limited edition of Deep Red. I waited just a bit too long and it was gone. I refuse to pay the scalper's prices, so it is the only Argento film from Arrow that I only have the standard edition.

I had 16 Kino Lorber Blurays in my cart but when I went to pay I discovered they don't ship to the UK.

The Japanese season sets of 24 have been sitting in my cart a while but the price is silly.
However I clicked to buy them yesterday but with 3 not out until Aug 11th I have time left to reconsider

Another one for me was the Complete Friday the 13th Collection.

I didn't think too much of it when it was available...mainly because I kinda figure it would be one of those always around.

And now look at it...

Luckily I did pick up all the 2 packs that came out almost 2 years ago. Learned my lesson.
