I felt Rickman was very good as Eamon de Valera but i agree about Julia Roberts the movie didn't need her.

Amazing news. I was hoping the centenary would result in a blu ray release. I just hope it's a decent release - PQ and AQ wise, extras would be nice but I could live without them.
In relation to the casting, I find Rickman endlessly watchable but not remotely human in the role - he's too mannered by far. And, unlike most, I think Roberts does alright with a fairly thankless part. Would I gave preferred an Irish actress? Most definitely. But it could have been worse. |

If it's anything like the other recent WB anniversary BD releases, the worldwide cover art will be revised to new, uniform art, which is probably what is displayed in the UK right now. The other countries are displaying a cover with art from the original theatrical poster, anyway, and that is far too sensible.
