SyFy's "Haven" (Season 2)

I just saw this promo and had no idea what this show is. The teaser definitely has me interested, but i've heard absolutely nothing about this. I just a few weeks back discovered Eureka due to an all day marathon on a Sunday and must say I was surprised I enjoyed that one as much as I did. SyFy is starting to really do better with it's newer programming. So what do you guys think about Haven??

"Haven" Syfy TV show is based on the novella "The Colorado Kid," from renowned author Stephen King.

Deep in the heart of Maine, Haven is a town where people with supernatural abilities have migrated for generations because it mutes their powers, allowing them to lead normal lives. At least, until recently in "Haven" on Syfy. When hot-shot FBI agent Audrey Parker is called to Haven to solve the murder of a local ex-con, she catches the killer but uncovers a much deeper mystery about this town in "Haven" on Syfy. Each week in "Haven" on Syfy, as the town-peoples' dormant powers begin to express themselves, Audrey will try to keep these supernatural forces at bay while unraveling the many mysteries of "Haven" on Syfy, including one surrounding her own surprising past in this extraordinary place.

Scott Shepherd ("Tru Calling," "The Dead Zone") serves as showrunner for "Haven" on Syfy and is joined by his partners Executive Producers Lloyd Segan and Shawn Piller ("The Dead Zone," "Wildfire," "Greek") and E1 Entertainment's John Morayniss ("Hung," "The Bridge") and Noreen Halpern ("Hung," "Copper"). I'm really looking forward to Haven. Has that Twin Peaks/X-files kinda vibe or that's what the descriptions are saying. This along with ABC's The Gates should fill me on the supernatural type shows for the summer.

Twin Peaks was exactly what came to my mind first as well. I've only seen the one promo for the gates and it didn't look very good. But who knows it was such a very vague promo I couldn't even tell what it was about. It might surprise us but to the best of my knowledge has any network successfully launched a hit show in the summertime? I'm not including cable channels like FX, HBO, Showtime or USA in that I mean ABC, NBC, CBS, or FOX.

Yeah I know The Gates promo didn't give me much except I think that guy took a bite out of her or something not really sure promo was not revealing at all. Not sure if game shows are included but Wipeout started in the summer and that was a hit not sure on dramas though.

I'll definitely look more into both Haven and The Gates, and if I find anything worthwhile I'll post it here.

EDIT: After finding the premise for The Gates it sounds exactly like Haven, only instead of the whole town it's only within one neighborhood lol.

"Gates" centers on a big-city cop who becomes chief of police in a seemingly sleepy planned community only to discover there's much more to the residents than meets the eye.

New promo for the show. Still doesn't show a lot but I can't wait for the premiere. She sounded just like Elena sometimes that I started to picture her.

Just recently got into Eureka, and I caught one episode of Warehouse 13 but it was from the middle of the season and was so damned confused I just shut it off and figured I'd try again when the season hits disc. Cause apparently you gotta be with it from the first episode to understand it, lol.

Unfortunately, Warehouse 13 will be DVD only

Actually W13 is a primarily episodic show, and only a few episodes require actual knowledge of the mythology.

Well than one of them I saw was a mythology episode, cause I was ABC's Lost for the entire time.

Don't blame you. I had no idea who she was until she did the voice of Elena in Uncharted 1 and 2, but it's nice to see her getting her own show now. I'll probably give it a shot.

The promos have been so vague and you don't quite know what to expect and that's why I will tune in, they have created a very interesting campaign that leaves you wanting to know more, so that's a perfect way to draw the viewers in I think.

I was surprised to see Eric Balfour and the extended previews, but yeah it haven't grabbed me either though I will still give it a shot.
