To counter the "Maybe I paid too much for this steelbook," I thought maybe we could start a thread about your steelbook purchases that were snagged at an unbelievably low rate. A steelbook that's valued higher than you want to pay and then *BAM* a listing on eBay or Amazon appears that seems too good to be true that pushes you over to finally buy it.
I've been wanting the HDZeta How to Train Your Dragon 3D steelbook for quite some time. Prices never seem to budge from $80 and up. I stumbled upon an eBay listing with a Buy it Now price of $39.99 and $4.00 shipping. After (rapidly) reading the description, I bought it. It arrived in sealed/mint condition last Thursday. I sold the 3D disc on eBay for $12, stuck my HtTYD2 disc in there, and added an adhesive disc hub on the left in anticipation for the third movie's disc. Mind you, my copy didn't have the slip, slip box, or extras (other than the numbered card), but I didn't care. The extras-less copies were still a minimum of $70 on eBay around the same time I bought this copy. After it was all said and done, it cost me $32.00! So how about you? What are some of your best "too good to be true" steelbook deals? Last edited by DarkEco910; 06-02-2015 at 08:44 PM. |
