honest or not? - Blu-ray Forum

was wondering what you guys thought of this idea, is it honest of not?

go to BB and buy there special of panny plasma for $2399 and get the panny bd30 free. first off would BB take a return of the tv down the road within the 30 days and refund the tv amount or refund the amount minus the difference of the bd player? (was thinking if i can get a free panny bd30 out of the deal).

or

do the same thing, but return the tv after christmas and say it was a gift with no receipt. they would issue a store credit for the lowest amount which is pretty much the amount i am paying now. any thoughts if you think this would work or not? could get a free blu ray player out of this?

YES!......NO!.......

I have a friend that does the switching thing all the time. They buy the product they want, for instance a PSP, then they buy a broken one from eBy and return the broken one to the store. That way the PSP that would have cost around $200, really only cost them about $30.

dont they try and give him a replacement one for the broken on?

yes i do have morals, i did not know how honest the world really was out there. i guess i am rather proud of you guys. i have seen some other shading talkings around here before and never commented on them, but they do go on.

i guess what this guy does above is honest??? mine was just a thought and you guys raked me over the coals, this guy is actually has done this stuff and i am the bad guy?? go figure...

look at the recipt if it mention a special or the player then it wont work

Either way would need a proof of purchase like a reciept and when packages come up they discount the tv for the player and therefore if you only returned the tv you would not get the full 2399 back. But yea that is unethical. If I read your post corrext you choose to not try it, so that is good.

For the record there is occasional shady talk on here of how to screw the retailers and its not fair to them and other consumers who abide.
