United Kingdom Is the Torchwood Collection compatible on US (R1) Players?

Greetings,

I'm thinking of purchasing the TORCHWOOD: THE COLLECTION boxed set (seasons 1-3) from the UK and would like to know if they are 100% compatible with U.S. blu-ray players (Region 1). Are the discs Region-Free? And if so, how about the extra feautures? I know a lot of discs have SD extras, which if they are PAL formatted, will not play in US players.

If anyone can help out asap I'd appreciate it. Looking to buy the set, but only if they will 100% work for me. Thanks!!

Rick

Does anyone have any idea about the compatibility of these with US players? I'd really like to buy this boxed set if it's truly region free, including all extra features (standard def).
Thanks!

BBC releases usually are, and the TW Season One boxset certainly was - that's about all I can tell you, I'm afraid, as I don't have any of the others.

The content of the discs is the same as the individual releases, as far as I'm aware, so whatever is on the boxsets should be in the boxset.

The Torchwood collection is region B/2 only.

I don't have the set myself, but I borrowed it from a friend a while back. It was region B/2.

Here is what it looks like.

I have this set but I've just had a look now for you but I can't find the region logos anywhere on the outer packaging or any of the individual packaging

Judging by the other BBC and 2|Entertain products, I'd say it was Region B.

They are region-free and even if you import them from the UK, they'll still play on US players as they've been encoded on disc at 60hz, rather than the native 50hz (Which will upset a lot of purists in the UK, but there you go)...

So they are.
My mistake.

Must have been an older player that I tested them on.
