I thought we were going to get some horror titles for October. So far Kino has announced...squat. A comedy and a drama

Good news! Just a pity we don't yet have FUNERAL IN BERLIN, which is the best of the sequels, IMO.

Nobody from Kino has said any such thing, afaik. This is just an assumption people tend to make because it's Halloween then.

Funeral in Berlin is still the best of the Harry Palmers--

Here, with BDB, it's hard to believe "Did Ken Russell really direct this?"
Until the scene where
[Show spoiler]good ol' God-and-the-flag American Ed Begley
reveals his big Bond-villain plan, and then....yyyyep, Ken Russell directed this. Dr. No meets Tommy.

I really hope it'll be uncut this time. The DVDs had 32 seconds removed because of the cost of the Beatles' Hard Day's Night. It's not as good as Ipcress or Funeral but I like the way the end of the film goes in the opposite direction to the book, Karl Malden's good and there's the welcome return of Oskar Homolka

I hope someone does a fresh scan of Billion Dollar Brain. ITM, on backwards to the Paramount release of Funeral in Berlin!

I wish this one had been released to Arrow instead, who'd probably done a new scan with the missing scene reinserted.

The scene in question does not show Beatles footage, only plays the song A Hard Day's Night in the background (at the time the Baetles were still under contract to United Artists). Some Beatles LP's are shown being taken out of a box but it's clear the deletion is due to the audio track. The song excerpt could easily be erased from the soundtrack if the scene were restored.

Yeah, it's kind of a baffling decision in my opinion that Kino would let this go out of print just as they were releasing The Ipcress File on blu-ray.

Strangely, I do have their dvd of this, but I recently thought I would upgrade now that the other two are on blu.

And I can't find many options to buy it.

Need help locating the name of a piece of music. It's the scene where Karl Malden is about to snipe his target and it turns out to be Françoise Dorléac and he's in shock. The same song played in another film I just watched with Jackie Chan, and really having a hard time finding the name.

That's a cue by Richard Rodney Bennett which is titled "The Church" on the soundtrack album.

Thank you. It played in one of the Jackie Chan films I watched last week, but now I can't remember which one. Either way, thank you.

This release is listed as 111 mins. The UK and Australian releases are listed as 108 mins. Is one of these incorrect or are the cuts different?
