No chance of that. We are talking about the country with the most Blu-ray porn in the world, after all.

On a related note, I also don't understand why Kadokawa "gave up" the home media license to The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 to Sony, either, as they released the first two films both theatrically and on BD themselves. I mean, the films do not seem to be very popular in Japan, yet they continue to get ornate Japanese video editions, with Sony's treatment of the latest film being almost too much. Perhaps these two incidents are related, and concern some sort of new distribution deal for foreign Kadokawa films in Japan. It's interesting that when you look at the list on IMDb, The November Man and Mortdecai were others that Sony distributed for them, too. It almost makes me wonder if the Sony Japan BD of Fury is different from the other Sony BDs (it probably isn't). Meanwhile, Kadokawa continue to release BDs of their foreign films themselves, but generally, in less ornate editions. It is strange, but in the end, it probably means the Blu-rays are superior to what would be produced without Sony's involvement, at least, that's the only way I can make sense of it. ![]() |

Sony have added the releases to their site:
Standard Edition specifications Premium Edition specifications Essentially, it looks like the film disc will have English: DTS-HD MA 5.1, a Japanese: DTS-HD MA 5.1 dub, and Japanese and English subtitles. The listed extras seem to match Amazon for now, with 95% of the Fox extras on the film disc, and at least an interview (or separate interviews) with Matthew Vaughn and Colin Firth on the Japan Limited Bonus Disc, with more to be announced. |
