Looks this is real and is getting a release in the US in March.

Perhaps this thread can contemplate US packaged release (as of this writing, the MPI) and the other thread (which as of this writing doesn't populate when you click "Forum" on the db listing for the German or UK releases) can contemplate packaged releases by entities outside the US (the Capelight and the Altitude).

In any event, whatever product was at the ImportCDs link in the original post above is now gone.

This link seems to be holding. It's been up for several days and the official announcement shows promise.

I'd be surprised if it gets released in the US. MPI doesn't really have the rights, so they'd only be able to get it released through a loophole of them being a US distributor of the German label Capelight's releases in the US. If Criterion actually did secure rights from Netflix however, then it's possible they could stop such a release in its tracks.

I'm hoping it happens just because it'll be a lot cheaper than importing from Germany. I plan to hold off for a couple more weeks before placing an order. Bullmoose is giving me hope.

I'm just curious if this release will happen or not. It's popping up in systems, but no specs yet and sounds slightly fishy, but we'll see.

The US Amazon page has had a slight update. It now shows DVD, Blu-ray and 4K options with the 4K option now including a pic. Before it was just a totally generic placeholder. Still unable to place any orders, but it's a positive change.

I'm really hoping this happens, but picture seems to be the same as the upcoming UK release minus the rating logos. No idea.

The first Netflix Oscar contender not to get a Criterion release.

Maybe they can do "Pieces of a Woman" and "Blonde" (even though I think it should definitely get a Criterion) soon.

I don't think it was ever sold there. I'm pretty sure it wasn't even on their site until the past few days because I checked sometime last week, and it wasn't on there. I think it's possible they don't do pre-orders, and them saying Sold Out is basically there way of saying it's not currently in stock. You can see a similar "sold out" status for another upcoming title on DVD called Arthur Malediction.
