Default Warner and DUD site chatter?

I was curious if anyone knows what the chatter is like on the DUD sites with the Warner rumors intimating Blu exclusivity? I'm afraid to pop my head in there and look for myself....

Well, let's see...

Lee "Butt Face" Stewart has finally started posting on HD-DVD.com.
He got the usual warm welcome over there...the red army was all anus-up to greet him on their site. Apparently, he got tired of the "blu invasion" as he called it on some of the other sites. LOL!!

Yeah....pretty much the same dilusional nonsense and rhetoric you'd expect from the Land Of The Lost.

Well from what I have seen the general idea on the red side is pretty much: Warner could never go Blu cause attach rates bla bla bla, or Warner is secretly preparing to announce they'll go Red bla bla bla Red is more viable and cheaper bla bla bla ...

Those guys sure know how to keep hopes up

Don't forget that Warner could never leave China and their CH-DVD!

attach rates is a form of disinformation that Toshiba/MS has fed them....and now they believe it...

The lack of activity @ AVS(even post apocolypse) and the other sites shows me that some of this information is starting to hit home..

I think alot of them don't want to believe it, hell Lee over @ AVS is still trying to force everyone to believe that digital distribution is the way to go. (He knows he's lost)...

It's a total crock.

They're favorite subject is that you guy's that own PS3 don't actually matter because you don't buy movies.

Here is a recent post from today:

PS3's count in the numbers for sure. Over 6 million BD players with 4 million software sold. 750k HD players with 2.5 million software sold.

Those are the numbers....

How sad. (shakes head) They just don't get it

They'll tell you that it's due to AVS' attempt to stop the supposed FUD coming from the blu camp. But yeah, you do see a big slowdown on the HD DVD forum there and a couple of others. It almost looks like one big "uh oh" and nobody knows exactly how to address it.

Rumor (key word) had it that they did indeed try to bribe Warner in a simillar fashion with something like $250 million or so worth of "incentives" and the simillar setup that happened with Paramount.

It was rejected flat on its face. It was suggested and probably goes without saying that there was/is some kind of a bidding war atmosphere around the whole thing.

I think it's rather telling that we're even seeing mainstream press outlets starting to pick up on the whole Warner thing.

Even MS probably can't afford what it would take to outright bribe Warner. They already blew their wad on Paramount. Toshiba? They've been held up and subsidized by MS for months in this increasingly foolish and suicidal venture that is HD-DVD.

No, I can't divulge where I got that rumor from. Again, it's just a rumor anyways but the person that passed that along to me is not one known for idle chatter and I thought it was an interesting rumor if nothing else.

Anyways, who cares what the DUD-ers say on their own forums? If you want to go over there and have it out with them, more power to you. I'd rather see that then a bunch of that BS start up here. It just isn't necessary.

You guys want an even bigger laugh?

This is from what's reported to be an email blast Rdjam's "HD NOW" site.

Apparently this is hitting email boxes today. Now, to me it appears that someone over there in the HD DVD fantasy land is getting a little jittery.

Right now they are pretty much latching on to Warner's denial of anything happening, still shouting "stand alone stand alone", insisting that they should have had their asses beat even worse in the numbers that came out for the week and the usual bit about tide turning.

Which studio is supposed to be going neutral? Let me guess Disney, that seems to be the favorite subject at every forum.

seriously?
sony obviously won't go neutral, fox is perminantly scared of hd-dvd's lack of copy-protection and regionlessness, disney reiterates daily how committed they are to blu...
not to mention noone would want to spend the time and money to re-encode every one of their titles to lower bitrates. what "major" studio is left?

Ya, I'll believe that when I see it. Why would any studio go neutral at this stage of the game, at least towards HD DVD? And as far as "major" studios go, who do they think that would be? Disney? No, they're more into Blu-ray than anyone (just look at the mall tour, and the fact that they put 100% into their releases, something they wouldn't be able to do on HD DVD). Sony? Why even go there. Fox? OK, if anyone would, it might be them, but again, why would they? To get started this late in the game, especially into a format that's being heavily subsidized to keep afloat, is just a poor business decision. I can't wait for that newsletter to come out and see what they have to say when there's no official announcement from a BD exclusive studio...
