Default # of blu-ray stand alones?

Just curious if there has been any information about the actual numbers (or ball park) of the number of stand alone players since I just saw this information on ign (http://ps3.ign.com/articles/841/841468p1.html).

As part of its monthly sales reporting today, NPD also dropped a few interesting tidbits about peripheral sales.

The Xbox 360 HD-DVD add-on has sold 269,000 units in the U.S. to date, which means about 3.4 percent of all 360s in America have the peripheral attached. Sony has sold 2.91 million PS3s (with Blu-Ray players included) in the U.S. to date. But overall, the most popular peripherals belong to the Wii.

Not long ago (dec 4th I believe) the BDA said that 2.7 million players are sold including stand alone players. Because by the end of the end it appears there might be a press release about 3 million blu-ray players sold.
